Sky LLU and Talk

Ive just got off the phone from them, I already had my line rental/ tv package with them and as our exchange has recently been upgraded decided to go with BB too. It was approx 2 week wait, no MAC needed as they already had the line. The router was so easy to set-up its untrue.
They did make a mistake with the prices however, I signed up to 6months free and then £7.50 p/m but the confirmation letter stated £12.50p/m no other offers applied. I called before the swap over date and they couldnt do anything as it wasnt showing up on the system until change over day (yesterday) she booked me in for a call back and rang me within 30mins of the agreed time yesterday but it still wasnt on the system so she called back today. She was able to confirm £7.50 p/m but still no offer, I said its the only reason I changed and she straight away came back with an offer from her supervisor of 12 months half price. Really impressed with everything so far, apart from speeds which do seem a bit slower, however its early days yet so Im sure that will settle.
I would happily recommend them based on my experience so far :TBow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais

Have been with Sky BB for years - it is truly unlimited

Also, I can say from personal experience that moving from BT to an LLU definitely can improve line speed. I switched from Plus.net to Sky and my speed went from 4.5Mb to 5.5Mb

Hi - i'm in a similar situation - I am looking at changing my current broadband provider to Sky - but was worried that i would get with a slower broadband connection and stuck with it for 12mths.
I am with Talk Talk at the moment and can honestl say I have had no problems with either phone or BB. I was looking at changing because I can save myself about £20 a mth by swapping to sky. I have a TV package with them and if i add phone and BB - its a big saving for me each month. I have the basic sky package.
My choice was either ditching Sky tv and try and beat down Talk Talk to a more competitive price. They wanted to keep offering me 2yr contracts which i refused.
At present my BB download speed is approx between 9-12mbps. I live approx 200metres from the local exchange. Will this have any bearing on speeds.
I have tried asking a few people I know about Sky in this area and have mixed feedback - so am totally confused as to which way to go.
Any advice would be gratefully received!! Thanks!Turn £100 into £10,000Total £0/£10,000:j2012 Challenge - £14 / £12000

You may not be able to go TT LLU to SKY LLU direct anyway, a return to donor via BT may be required (12m line rental contract). Talk to Sky first, or use the line checker on their site.No free lunch, and no free laptop
