Somebody please suggest the best/cheapest way to get a Blackberry Bold 9900

Yes, she can do that, and put her Orange SIM in the blackberry she gets. Then, a call to 450 can activate the Blackberry service for £5/month from credit balance (need to top up first).
They should then send the details needed to the phone to get everything working.
The £5/month cost comes from PAYG credit balance - not by making a specific £5 top up, so combine with top up rewards to get the best value from Orange PAYG (£10 top up each month should also get 400 free texts on the right tariff etc). If she will only really be using BBM and only really need £5/month top up, then the monkey tariff includes 25 free text messages each month with a £5 top up.0 -
