V+ box - 3 months

I had been a virgin customer until last November when i moved in with Mrs Pedro into a non-cabled area. Virgin were supposed to collect the box on my moving out day. they didn't i emailed them twice, finally got a date rearranged for the 6th December. no show again.
i've since emailed a further 3 times and haven't had a response other than their automated "we will respond in 48 hours" joke!
Has anyone had anything similar? i am aware the Ts and Cs state the box is owned by them so i can't sell it.
some people have faced £250 charges for not being able to return the box.
but i was thinking i could write a letter demanding 'storage costs' relative to the size of the box compared to my home and the homes value? do you think this would work?
I would of easily moved back to Virgin as soon as i was in a cabled area... but this level of customer service is making want to stay with Sky.

Ring them & ask them to send you out a pre-paid jiffy bag.0
-
Recorded letter stating previous contacts giving x days to collect or item will be recycled at a weee point, job done.0
-
Or instead send an email complaint to the VM CEO and you avoid postage costs. Also try asking for compensation for their unreliability.0

tried the jiffy bag thing - apparently they don't do them anymore.0
