Talking of caravans..... I am always amused by the Grand Designs people who live on site in a mobile home for 6-18 months ... and they make out it's the worst thing in the world. Don't they realise that thousands of people live full-time, forever, like that ... and without the benefit of seeing a perfect house that'll be jusst theirs soon appearing before their eyes.

Doesn't the LL's insurance cost a lot though, as she'd have to rehouse them until the end of their AST? Surely that'd mean an immediate hotel for a few days while somewhere else was paid, fees paid, deposit paid .... and they'd still have to fork out to have her house fixed again.

Dunno I'm afraid. I only know that's what she's doing. I imagine she felt it was the least awful of the available options.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Pastures, Georgian is written in a different alphabet from Russian and it doesn't have those back to front Rs, but lots of other, more squiggly letters instead.

OK ... so Georgians have no Rs.

    :)

That reminds me of that old joke: Did you know they only had 25 letters in the alphabet when Jesus was born?

They sing the song: No L, No L, No L, No L.

    I'll get my coat.

    Love it.

I think most people get out more than I do - apart from Sue. I wish we could make it easier for Sue to get out.

Here’s the Georgian delegation whiteboard as I get into my temporary office this morning.

This happens to be my Georgian handwriting, as it’s a note for the Delegates to behave themselves :)

Cheers CK. When I look at Georgian handwriting, it looks like something that I should understand, with distinct letters like the latin alphabet and written flowingly, unlike cyrillic. Then I look a bit closer and realise I haven't got a chuffing clue. It's a bit like Leonardo da Vinci's mirror writing but different. Does Georgia share its alphabet with other countries or is it unique to you, in the region?

I have the same problem with Greek. I took about 6 Greek lessons so can understand a few words but that's it. It sounds like a language I should understand but then I don't understand any of it.

In other news, I've been editing the language courses at the library and getting rid of the ones that are falling apart (one was held together with that silver building tape, heaven only knows why) or have bits missing. Most are on cassette, but I may have to learn something different. We aren't allowed to sell old tat like that, so I can take my time to learn something. Just in case people are worrying, we do have a lot of shiny new courses too, most of which are on those new-fangled CD things;).
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

She always seems to be getting out.

Only with boys in tow and for child related things....social things for just me? About once a year.

    Dating? Never.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

That's what I meant. "Out" with one's kids isn't "out" in the same way as without them.

    Hugs to Sue.
