My tax is something like 46.6% for last year, so I can’t really begrudge myself £2250 in tax-free cash after paying the tax man £150k-ish over the course of the year!

I don't think that "posh alert" will be sufficient to express Pastures's feelings at this post.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

How in heaven's name can holiday lettings have decided that St Alban's is a ski resort, though?

    Snow in the back garden.

I remember back to my teaching days, and Newport was a ski resort for a few days (one family, originally from Canada, sent their 2 kids in on a day we closed.....on skis)

I was nice enough to drive them back, though, as I’d just driven in from Chelmsford!

Now I've found you, by searching for ski resorts in England. I doubt many people would do that!

You've moved out of the county! No wonder I couldn't find you!

Do you think showing pictures of a stone clock tower and a cathedral may mean visitors are going to be slightly surprised when they arrive? Especially when they turn up at their ski resort and find the snow has melted!

So sorry to hear that Sue. Another day that makes you realise the danger of motorsports:(.

I don't think Georgians like being referred to as Russians. ;)

Feed in tariff is now approx half what is was - does this mean if you can get system for half price it cost before (say 5k installed rather than 10k) the retrun would be just as good?
