    Hi Corrag, welcome :)

All this talk about planting makes me wish I had a garden and green fingers. I seem to have an innate ability for floracide - even Bob II the Unkillable Houseplant (given to me on purpose) is at death's door.

Dog Dog is beautiful LIR, such a lovely picture. Shame we can't see more of the DH who comes across as a right treasure from your posts.

Weather's a bit rank but it definitely made the ride to MK interesting. At one point I thought it was all over - a lorry right up my rear plus some roadkill spread along the A509 but it all ended well (and the rain washed most of the gunk away).

My sister gave me an unkillable plant because of my inability to keep any plant alive......I killed it! :rotfl:

My brother and sister both got the green fingers gene, think they may have got my bit too.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Ah, there's my let-out clause. :o

BTW, I was kidding. With £100k to spend on the house, I can't even afford the toys that would be useful! :(

That's true, but as we only ever have sliced Hovis here, when I get offered a chunk of fresh from the oven bloomer, I can't resist. Today I went out for lunch with my absolutely wonderful m-i-l. I had a grilled haloumi salad with ginger and sesame seeds and leaf salad which was gorgeous, but by the time I'd scoffed two slices of fresh bloomer I only managed 2/3rds of the salad and no room for pud:o.

I love bread but sadly, do not eat much of it any more. Dh is a great baker, so more often than not any bread we eat is home baked, and often better than what restaurants offer. Speiality bread, regional bread is worth tasting imo. Other is not worth it.

My favourite bread in england is the one sold at the side of the a303 in queen camel. I would ea that every day of the week if i could.

Otherwise i keeo the odd loaf of whoopsied bread in event of food emergency, but usually the bread maker or dh's work by hand is our rare bread!

Scorchio here today. Got the unsavoury prospect of a tip run (HATE tips) ... with garden waste (HATE garden waste!!). Having to look after this garden's meant that while I can sometimes convince somebody else to cut a lawn, it's still up to me to do disposal..... and usually it's in the middle of other things going on and it simply gets chucked in a black bin bag for "later on"... and then it rains. Well.... I have a selection of black bin bags now, just moved one and a raft of creepy crawlies and slugs made a dash for it..... got to clear my car out and get this minging stuff into my car and tip it. Also the general rubbish as the collection wasn't really an option for me this week (and I knew I HAD to go to the tip so thought I might as well take it myself).

I hate having minging stuff in my car :(

Expensive morning...had to put two new tyres on the car but at least they are done now and I can rest easy knowing my car is safer for the children to be transported in.

James also needed a driving license applied for (he paid half), youngest needed a case for his Ipad (not the ultra expensive ones) and middle son needed a new Hi-hat clutch.

At least the rebate from Npower was well spent and I still have a good chunk left to stock up on food, pay a few other bills and generally breath a sigh of relief for a short while.

....and I'm back in the room:beer:

    Welcome Corrag.
My house is from around 1900 - I'll check! It has an extension from the 2000s though.

Had lots of bread sans butter at the start of every meal as that seems to be the way in Spain!

    I wonder if there's a business opportunity there.

This is different to our childhoods... [1] my mum couldn't drive and we weren't taken to places. If you wanted to go somewhere you walked or cycled or didn't go. [2] Paid for our own driving license. [3] Mum would have knitted us a case and we'd have used it [4] Whatever that is, we'd have had to pay for it or do without.

Our mums would have had cash in her pocket and we'd have gone without, but then everybody went without so you didn't feel deprived.
