Sky's not been blue, but I was in cropped jeans on the beach and open shoes without socks.
Have you turned into a closet geologist?
If so, I might be able to interest you in a seriously big unconformity near Shepton Mallet, which I've tried, unsuccessfully, to get my DW to visit. It's very exciting! There are also a couple of Neptunean dykes in the area too, although I've never seen them, so we'll have to take the British Geological Survey's word on that one.

How perfect would that lake be with a swan pedalo on it? My other question is, if that's how big Dog Dog is, however big is Big Dog?
Lovely photo. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I thought you might be talking aout knowle rock? But it seems not.
I know a geologist in the area who was carefully sowing me the 'folds' in the land scape are echoed three or four times over the souther villages, in exact prorportionate repetition showing how the pressure of plate movment created them so evenly. Apparantly its quite an example of that.
Dh and i went back to bed again....getting in to a naughty habit, and are only just up and having a cuppa while deciding what to do in the rain.0 -

What is Inferior Oolite? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
LIR, how many staircases does your house have? (Puts PN on alert for the reply.)
Two, but neither is grand. The 'main' staircase is very steep and narrow, very humble farmhouse. In fact the hall is pokey, dark and generally not a place to congragate. The upstairs landing is lovely though, feels 'original' and while tatty it feels restful and calm.
Back stairs are a steep ladder type affaire. Dog dog cannot get up them, for example, and it took me months to risk going down them.0 -

This is like that game show QI, where the buzzers sound and the large screens at the back display POSH ALERT!
Then Stephen Fry leans forward and says "A survey of the nice people on MSE found that nearly 10% of them had 2 staircases."No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Dh pointed out that one day there will be a third in this house, and one or two else where. Unless a ladder to a hay loft also counts as stairs? Its unsafe and [STRIKE]we[/STRIKE] dh uses a normal ladder when he goes up there.
Still, its still a state, sadly, of quantaty over quality, none of our stairs are or ever will be 'posh', and a sheer wuantity of anything cannot turn sows ea to silk purse!0
