sorry pn *posh alertage*
just had a lovely snack of oysters from waitrose. 50p each
See, half a dozen oysters are filling, bit a lemon, green tabasco.....its not an insubstantial meal, very healthy. Not cheap, but not bank busting either.
Doozergirl has been here today. She is very, very gorgeous, like a plantinum version of Cleopatra, really breathtaking. And little doozer....just a darling, beautiful and so patient. It makes me wonder if like the mushroom ratio...nice people have nice children more often than in society at large? Anyway, i would gladly have kept both doozerchild and doozer dog as they were both treasures. H is amazing, full of verve and ideas, and his love for architecture is so obvious. Especially as poor doozerdaughter got sent flying by dh and big dog at first meeting and by rights should have hated both all day, instead she bravely perservered with both. What a little star!
Doozer and h have convinced me, at last, i should accept and embrace radiators. And having a frsh, and very very experienced set of eyes look at the place is really educational. The interesting thing was also where they did not, at forst discussion agree , and how they reason.
And lots to think about and mull over.
Doozer is a doll, and like when i have seen lydia, makes me think we should organise something.0 -

I've never had oysters - never seen them either. The thought grosses me out though.
There's an Oyster Festival down these parts every year in October: http://www.falmouthoysterfestival.co.uk/ - never been, I've no interest in it.0 -

can I suggest that you shell out about 50 smackers on a cheap PVR? They are worth their weight in gold, as you record everything you want to watch in advance and then fast forward through the boring bits.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

So pleased you had a NP look around and give you some advice.

Pooh
Put up a wall bracket for TV. Horrible job as I only have hammer drill not sds and the wall was engineering brick and had to drill 4 10mm holes 100 deep
Anyway now I have finished one light ring does not work just trips the circuit breaker so I am wondering whether although I made sure I missed the wires that go up and down may be there is also one that goes across (I did check with beepy detector but they are not 100% accurate.
Plus I can't even take the bolts out as one of them snapped off from the torque as a screwed it in using the socket.
I think the problem is probably local on the 2 way switch for the outside lights so may be I can just isolate this part but of course the other option is all the hammer drilling has caused another poorly made connection to work loose elsewhere in the house. I have neither the circuit testing skills nor the skills to fix it
At least (MsK) I know which way up is on on the circuit breaker switchesI think....0 -
Today I cleaned, undercoated and top-coated the doors after DH kindly removed the handles for me. The previous homeowners had painted the handles on the door so I couldn't just pull them off, he had to bang them with a hammer! They look much better now, but I couldn't get a good enough finish to not show the mess underneath the painted on handle, no matter how much I sanded back. I was looking for new handles, but the size is different now so will have to rethink that as I can't go smaller. Still, instead of yellowing gloss we've got fresh white satinwood. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? lir I am so pleased for you, it will help you look at your project with a fresh set of eyes and a new perspective. What a wonderful family the doozers are for coming to help out. That is so lovely of them.
I am fascinated by your description of Cleopatra though, the only Cleopatra I can think of is Elizabeth Taylor and I just can't imagine her blonde. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? A modern cleopatra, not liz taylor esque in the least, but regal without being stately, noble without being austere.
They are very kind indeed, they renaged on the agreement we had and would only let me contribute to their generousity by sending them home with cake. Little doozer also offered to share her sweets ( i had to tell dh off because he had a greedy sugar glint in his eye!).0
