It says Jack Bauer on the start list here: http://www.letour.fr/2012/PRX/RIDERS/us/partants.html
He's a kiwi apparently and races for GARMIN. Now I can't see a Steve Bauer on the start list. I wonder if the authorities have been watching a bit too much 24:D.

    Garmin is a decent team.

Team Sky are in the race but they don't seem to have brought anyone with a good shout of winning. I really think they've a chance to win the Tour de France in the next few years.

Is Wiggins going for it this year or are the olympics too big a deal?

Her main competitor is Pendleton and unfortunately for us Meares looks waaaaay stronger at the moment. Plus Pendleton has all but announced her retirement.

I thought Pendleton was very lucky in the semis and gawd knows how she got the decision in the final

It will be interesting to see if she can up her game for the Olympics.

    New favoured product is this:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/288874-toshiba-satellite-pro-c660-2f8-laptop-psc1me-01g00ken

ebuyer has it at 369(less 5.50 quidco) and ebuyerexpress on ebay at 349. Is there is a difference in service?
cant find a desktop any cheaper with similar spec.

I think laptops "these days" are much alike and if that's the one you like then go with your gut feeling. Toshiba used to be highly rated for laptops but I expect most are good now. You can always find bad reviews about any laptop so it's hard to go on reviews.

I think ebuyer express is as good as ebuyer and would be what ever was cheaper.

He's not in Paris-Rubaix but I reckon he'll be giving the Tour de France a proper shot. He's in with an outside chance of winning it. IMHO that is bigger than an Olympic Gold for a stage road racer.

It depends on how he and his team feel about things I guess.

Wiggins should be ok for the road time trial by the time of the Olympics anyway.

You can never rule out an elite athlete I guess but she didn't look at her prime when we went to see her in London either. Pendleton didn't even medal in the sprint there and Meares was not as good as she has been on home turf. Guo of China won that one.

But you're right, I don't know how she got the decision either, given Chris Hoy had received almost the opposite decision earlier.

Out of interest, what sports to people follow, if any?

My favourites are F1, MotoGP and athletics; like but not favourites: track cycling, swimming, football (World Cup/European Cup/Champions League only), American football (blame DH, high scoring games only), rowing, diving, speedway (but only watched live), skiing, bobsleigh. Not interested: tennis, golf. Don't like: cricket.

I'm currently watching the IPL with a beer, nice way to spend my Easter :)

Think I'll venture out for the footie later, not looking good for City but I reckon it'll be a good game. May go to Oldham away on Monday. We shall see!

So I like Cricket and Football, Oldham but also Manchester City. Get into F1 when I watch it when I'm not doing anything else. Tennis, I watch Wimbledon but that's usually enough for one year. I'll watch the athletics at the Olympics. Seeing someone who's into Tae Kwon Do so I'll end up watching that too :p

I only have freeview so don't get chance to watch much else.

Have played and would like to take further: tennis

Watch (In addition to the above): F1, boxing (very occasionally), Test cricket (big fan).

Hate: Golf. Can't play it, can't watch it. Horrible sport. Rugby League: just don't get it. Aussie Rules: See NRL.

I hate golf as well. It seems to serve more as a lubrication for the wheels of commerce than as a sport. The idea of watching it on TV is a completely alien one to me.

And I don't get rugby, at all. I watched some of the Six Nations in an effort to get into it but as hard as I tried it just didn't work for me.

Oh, I always watch the snooker too :D
