Yes, the person who found something more interesting to do :)

I came in to watch it as a change from washing down my kitchen cupboard fronts as part of the spring clean. The boat race definitely won on the interest front.

I hope Alex Woods is ok.

    No room at the inn!

I'm surprised at your rates of pay. In my county it'd most likely be NMW and no bonus and no pension for a controller job. To run the office/be office manager and do all of the accounts and payroll and everything too it'd probably be £14-15k.

Years ago I had some mates whose parents started a cab company from the cubby hole under the stairs in their home.... they did well. Both my mates (twin lads) were working for the firm before too long - and within a couple of years they were all well off.

Another place I've seen big bucks is chip shops. I had a friend years ago who was the manager of a chip shop. She told me her boss had bought the one she worked at for £80k and had paid off the loan within 3 years. And that was in about 1988, when £80k was a lot of money :)

They’re the 2 big ones, however the way we do it, everything’s above board. I took one of the cars out last night for 2 hours, to test the meter-control check thing. Ran £280.40 on the meter, and the office system said £280.20, so I know it’s accurate. This all sits on a system for a set period afterwards (I don’t know how long, and don’t care much), but it’s a great system of typing in a driver number and seeing how much they owe you. This all does it on R1, so R2/3/4 (on Christmas day/tomorrow) extras are the drivers to keep, as are any tips.

I’ve just done a rough run-down of the books which are now here for anyone that’s thinking of getting into this game.

If you have a PC, why would you be looking at laptops? PCs are generally more powerful, more comfortable to use, and much easier to fix if something goes wrong as all the components are standard and you just swap out whatever is faulty. Do you need portability?

I don't know about the games, but i3 will be sufficient for the rest of your work.

Medion is a respected make, but that particular model has had some unfavourable comments from users.

I don't need portability, but the price difference seems to be small. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse and an acer screen that I can plug into the laptop if I want to work in the study.

Challenge, if you have time, this is the favoured laptop at the moment:

What would a similar spec desktop cost?

Shame the boat race was ruined by some knob who will probably now get all the attention he was seeking in the press. Best thing would be if the press closed ranks and refused to report any rubbish from him but you know that they won't.

If I was in the Oxford crew Id be angrier than if someone had washed my passport three times.

Easter weekend isn't for spring cleaning. You've got lighter evenings coming for that.

Let's face it, you weren't robbed - you tried to mug the other team, got it wrong..... and were shown up for the cheats you are :)

The other team were meandering along, minding their own business .... and some w4nker (probably a future Govt leader) decided to pull on the steering to put the others off their stroke... and got PWNED!!!

I’ve cleaned most of the house today.

Currently in 'The office room' (as my girls call it) is the last one to be decorated and plastered, and where we’ve refused to insulate the house (it’s over 100 years old and I’m scared to for moisture reasons), it can still get bloody cold if the heating isn’t on! This room was the garage when we moved in, and a bicycle repair shop when the house was built in 1876.

I do my spring cleaning every Easter. That way I can still have two days off and get most of the work done so I can enjoy my lighter evenings. Besides, the weather at Easter has a habit of being pants around here so its a good use of bad days.

I've been having an occasional chest pain since last night I am trying to dismiss as "shouldn't have eaten that pizza".... I'm sure it's nothing, but if I don't post for 48 hours..... consider I was wrong :)
