Who knows about EPC ratings?
Apparently to benefit from FIT feedback tariffs now, your home has to have an EPC rating of D or better before the solar panels are fitted.
I've got upvc double glazed windows and 12inch lagging in the loft but the boiler is only 74% efficient (new in 2004 so not worth changing), light bulbs are mainly those recessed ceiling GU things and the walls are solid so haven't got a cavity to fill. Would that get me a D rating?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly. Our old home was similar. New windows, fully insulated loft, some underfloor insulation, solid walls so no insulation there,
but brand new boiler, no GU10s, energy saving lightbulbs throughout (which get you a silly amount of points) and it got *just* a D on Carbon and an E on energy efficiency, 53 - one point below a D.
I still don't get the things. How can the potential be two points higher when I could get an A if I really wanted to. It's all tut as far as I'm concerned and I have no doubt that if I called in 10 EPC men on the same day, I'd get 10 different EPC ratings. I've commissioned enough to know now that they really are pointless.
Using a renewable energy source would take it up anyway? How can you deter people and the environment ultimately from benefitting from renewable energy sources by telling people they haven't done enough already to qualify for incentives? They're desperate to get people to do as much as possible.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I am surprised. She is not 'that' beautiful, though very attractive. Nothing wrong with her, she is nice looking, but in a run of the mill way. I want to make clear i am not making a judgement of her as a person, but i ran with a very beautiful pack.:D and i am objective about looks on people, because used to be used to being judged on them in a practical, not personal way. She might have great pheremones. As for the down sides of friends not trusting you, hmm, not so sure. My friends, like me, were used to looks, i found i became less likable when ill and fat....it pulls the group down. I wonder if thinks she perceives as to be a result of looks are attributable to other things additionally. Its well documented that better looking people do better though, starting at school as teachers are drawn to look favourably upon them supposedly. I reckon skills ( in cluding the skill of looking good and making the most o what you have) even out eventually to a degree....but not necessarily in success ....
I found that when i was not looking my best i got more attention than when i looked seriously hot, from men, but i got free stuff, like clothes, when looking Good. Its also slightly slimy feeling at times.
Dh also gets lots of free stuff, or used to, and he is very average o the looks scale, ( objectively, to me he is obviously breathtaking') so i think being nice, in a way h is and i am not, is a more profitable quality.0 -

Don't know, I'm afraid, but I do know you can get LED lightbulbs for GU fittings if you need to improve your rating. I've just fitted some in my kitchen and am very pleased with them. They're 4.5W each and provide more light than conventional 50W ones.Doozergirl wrote: »Have any of you read this article? I just wondered what you thought of it?

Doesn't ring true to me. If she finds that women invariably hate her then that must be down to her behaviour in some way, not just her face and figure. The way she writes is rather "spoilt brat" style, so if she goes through life exuding some kind of "hey boys look at me, I'm gorgeous" attitude, that might account for it. My experience of women's relationships with other women is that most are not terribly bothered about whether the other women are attractive, but almost all women are annoyed by people (of either sex) who are absorbed by a sense of their own wonderfulness and superiority.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

You have to get a rating of D or above before the solar panels are commissioned or you don't get the decent rate of FITs...ever. Instead you get 3p or something stupid.michaels wrote:Do the FITs still make it make sense?
The cost has come down since the FITS were reduced and it still makes sense, compared to sticking money in a carp savings account. Friends who have it already (and so get higher FITs) reckon the payback will be shorter than the advertised rate because electricity prices increasing aren't included in the calculation.
Broadly FITs were at 43p sell back, now down to 21p, but the cost of installation should drop from 10k to 7k. Add cheap electricity to that..and we use more than the average.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Um....hangon.
Boxing 6oo women do/ have done in uk and its at the olympics.
Lots of women do.....um....cannot rememebr but either hocky or netball and its not.
Um, in its original quote it was really quite interesting and relevant to some discussions we have had about olympics.0 -
Interesting, I saw some numbers that seemed to be based on electricity becoming much more expensive. Shale gas in the US has made gas (and hence electric) much cheaper and it may well happen here too.I think....0
