Funny that, I had a rubber ring for swimming, or at least that's what my Dad said. In reality it was the inner tube of a car that we had in Australia that was so old it had running boards. I think it was an Austin of some sort. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? does anyone want to invest? bannatyne has already expressed interest.
I'm especially interested in trialling this.
I presume you'll be supplying the 10 pints fo me to get the full experience? (Although, can I trial it with ale not lager please?)0 -

I don't know about you, but I would never be able to get through that much ale, as it just sends me to sleep! We did actually kick off on bitter yesterday but I had to switch after 3 as I was in danger of going face down on the table.
There's some blue wkds in the fridge though from when a friend came to stay and then didn't drink them - you can have them if you like.0 -
Our shoes are on a bookcase under the coat hooks in the hall. Except that DD, who has removed all the books from one of the bookcases in her bedroom, has now started piling books on the shoe-bookcase so there is no room for all her shoes.
I too keep shoes I wear a lot downstairs (on the shoe-bookcase) and seldom-worn shoes upstairs (in my wardrobe).Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Just checking in before I go to bed!
That sounds absolutely delish! I may try that as a quick one at some point this week! Minus beer for the kids, of course.
One to bring back a few memories for people on this threads predecessor, and I find out tomorrow if we have the contract for the kids version for another 3 years (Russian delegation), although I don’t want to be sitting under Katya Orlova for too much longer . Fingers crossed.
Edit: Any news on the meteors? My BP said that someone in Scotland saw it, at the same time as others. He has more people from that region on FB than I do (he’s from Perth)! I’ve only seen him for about 10 minutes today, and we’re i different offices until Thursday, so I will speak to him in more detail if I bump into him!
Night guys!

I had to google to find out what calzone pizza was, I expected to find it was something like pepperoni.... but I see it's a pasty-style pizza.0

Having looked at the curent NP topics or liberalisation, have any NPs ever been to Amsterdam? Back in my student days there was an ex- CIA agent exiled there (Philip Agee, I think it was) who was a bit of a cause celebre.
After having visited it, I found myself thinking how agreeable the whole city was, even to an English-speaker. If you had to stay in one city and not leave it for years or even decades, you could pick a worse one.
That's interesting, my student sons have just come back from a weekend to Amsterdam with friends, I thought they were interested in Anne Frank's House and Van Gogh Museum, seems I am wrong. Had to wash their clothes as they had a strange smell....0 -

I think my thoughts are more libertarian - do what you want providing it doesn't hurt anyone else and doing so won't lead to a greater reliance on government funding. However I know that our government - whatever shade is in power - can't help tinkering and that tinkering inevitably costs money.
The thing is The War on Drugs has clearly been a colossal failure as there are 370,000 'problematic drug users in England' with an estimated 10,000,000 having tried drugs (probably an under-reporting) (link).
If a policy is a very expensive failure then it's probably time to try something else.
Also, as such as massive part of the population has spent a part of their lives regularly committing crimes for which they haven't been punished, IMHO the current drug laws have led to less respect for all law.0
