Have lovely photos on i pad of icey windows on the inside.
I did feel v bad for you this morning. I went into my kitchen which was absolutely freezing at 16C. Because of the layout there isn't room for a rad on the wall in the kitchen but there's one in the hallway directly outside and that was on full. I thought that if I could have a house as cold as that with the heating on full, goodness only knows what it is like for you, for Sue, and for michaels and ndg if they are not fixed yet.
The tiles were really cold underfoot and I found myself longing for underfloor heating. When we put the new floor down we'd had a run of warm winters and didn't think we would need it, but starting to see error of ways now. Would cost too much to take up and do over though:(.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Trust you to think of that.

I can't see any different outcome as all the top teams have the same drivers but I'd love to be proven wrong.0 -

As a Ferrari fan it pains me to say this, but I'm looking forward to seeing the fight between Seb and Jenson this year. I think Jenson drove better than at any time in his career in the past season. I don't really like Hamilton, but I hope he's managed to fight his demons over the winter season. He won't like Button out-performing him, that's for sure.
I'm also excited about seeing di Resta paired with Hulkenberg at Force India. I've said for a long time having seen him race in lower formulae that I think there is something special about Hulkenberg, so to see how he fairs against rising star di Resta will be interesting. It will also be interesting to see how Senna does at Williams. I'm sad to see Rubinho go, but it's Bruno's turn to take the spotlight. I idolised his uncle, I'm yet to be convinced young B is as good as. It seems to be all about dynasties this year, whether the Senna one or the di Resta/Franchitti one. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Yummmmmmm... I love Indonesian food (jealously strikes). @ viva
I also like the look of the Di Resta V's Hulkenburg battle. Di Resta can't hide now and has to step up to the mark and I'll never forget that race where Hulkenburg blitzed the grid in the wet.
I can't see B Senna doing as much as either of the Force India but who would know this early in the season.
I think if Hamilton get's focused then he will beat Button. Trouble is he has been widely criticised for his driving style when previously that was what won him the championship.0 -
I've never had/seen Indonesian food. Read the menu, it's a bit pricey for me. I'd eat it, but nothing on the menu screamed "eat me!". I'd not choose to eat in an Indonesian restaurant in case I didn't like it and forever wished I'd gone to an indian/chinese and had something I liked
There's so much commitment when you choose from a menu - choose the wrong thing and you're hungry and skint. Choose what you know/like and you're fed0 -

I love the Netherlands, as, to a Brit, it seems both very familiar and slightly strange at the same time. One difference in the food is that the main foreign food I saw was Indonesian and they do very cheap set meals which have a bit of everything in small bowls for you to dip into. Wish it was more common here.
Somebody once told me there was an invisible line across Europe north of which people eat the food simply to avoid death, and south of which they eat food for the pleasure of it and you can soon tell whether you are north or south of that line.
The Netherlands is north of it - loads of cheese, meat, sausages, vegetables and not much that's very fancy; Belgium's south of it - all fruit beers, nice lagers, (anyone remember when Stella was a rare premium beer before it conquered the world and became the new standard?), liqueurs, cakes, chocolates, and plenty of fancy food. Much as I like northern europe, I can't pretend we take the food business seriously. I wish the UK was south of that line but it isn't.:(There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

My heating works...I just have a house which is quite drafty. My bedroom is currently 16C, positively tropical compared to the last few days where it has been refusing to go above 13 degrees in here.
The bathroom and toilet however are freezing, the floor is just so cold, so no taking ages in either rooms, although I think youngest's bath earlier is the reason my bedroom is at a semi decent temp now. I am going to have to spend some time in there tomorrow though, one of my pipes from the sink is blocked and although I tried to fix the blockage earlier by taking apart one section of piping, the blockage appears to be in another bit and I ran out of time and had to put everything back together again. (I prefer to try to fix it myself if it is going to be a simple job rather than call the HA)
We've been having a trip down memory lane tonight, we have been sorting through some bits and pieces which have been stored in youngest's bedroom and by goodness, it had me in tears at points.
We found the shawl my paternal grandmother crochet/knitted for James before he was born and which was used on all 3 boys for their baptism, it is still in absolutely perfect condition and as she has now sadly passed away, it was a really touching moment when we discovered it (I had put it away somewhere safely and had forgotten where I had put it!), so much so, I burst into tears (silly old me)
We also found lots of baby photos, my pregnancy notes with James, old photo albums, rare vinyl singles and a signed programme from one of the rock bands we had seen in the mid 90's....and we haven't completed going through stuff yet, that will have to continue tomorrow as bedtime intervened in our journey of discovery.
Problem is, I am far too excited to sleep right now.....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Variations from the norm soon become the regular ... and as variations from the norm are pricier, it means if you let it become regular you'll run out of money before you run out of month.
So I kind of stick to the most economical way of achieving the food I know/like and have available.
To me "splashing out" means spending £7 on an indian takeaway0
