Ah - so you can just encourage short calls per se. How about installing seats that slope slightly forwards, making people feel they want to stand up, without necessarily being aware of why?
You need to discourage local calls from going on too long but you aren't worried about the long-distance calls - they're already short because they do cost.
The local ones are toooooo long because there's a low fixed charge regardless of length of call.
The solution is low-tech and Lydiaj's suggestions are all in the right level of alteration. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Not sure what they call it... *googles*.... Mountain Boarding. There are all terrain boards you can use on grass, or sand, or tarmac....

not really, because the point of a skiing holiday is not to actually do the skiing, which is just a means to an end (as far as i'm concerned anyway). the point is for a load of blokes to escape from the ball and chain for a week, eat currywurst for every meal, then drink an enormous amount of jaeger until they can't stand up or see (and then ski back down the mountain).0 -
St Anton is great - only ever been there in low season when we had the slopes to ourselves tho and got lucky with the snow.
it was quite good, very steep though - although this was good as it forced me to learn to ski properly this time.
the slopes were most definitely NOT empty - it was horrendously, ridiculously busy, and made worse by the fact that there was a race there on the saturday which meant that half the slopes were shut.
lech was better, but €100 return trip a taxi wasn't ideal, although split between 7 not the end of the world.

I've never been skiing and also never met anybody that has.... maybe it's a posh alert moment.0 -

it is definitely a major posh alert. it seems to be the case that you're supposed to spend more on the skiing clothes than you do on the holiday, otherwise you're a pleb.0 -
I hope this answer's not too much of an anti-climax .
They put weights in the telephone handsets so callers got tired of holding them and speeded up their calls.
Only really affected the local calls as they were the only ones that were over-running.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Hey, dh asks this question, and i saild one of the np would know.
In uk was there ever cereal called fruit loops sold?
We both remember it, and i think it was sold here back when things like lucky charms still were. We cannot remember if it were also a general mills product.
Edit I think there might have been a tucan on the box.0 -

I don't know, never eaten it, but it looks like something with a lot of E-numbers in it :eek:0
