    So how much did said computer cost if you dont mind me asking? (And what was it running at before you overclocked?)

  • IIRC i5-2500k stock is 3.3 Gig. It'll easily oc to 4 Gig on the Intel oem cpu cooler. You could do a rig like that for under £700, price then driven up mainly by choice of gpu.

    9.9964 Seconds on my 3 year old Core i7-920 (2.6Ghz), stock everything running all my usual programs.
    I did have it overclocked to 4Ghz at one point but it got so hot my pc doubled as my room heater.

    It should be good for few more years but it'll probably get upgraded before then.

    Mine's 32M - 7.5 secs (3828.1 mhz Thuban PH-E0*1)

  • 6.928 on my i7-950 oc'ed @ 4 gig. I guess the hyperthreading gives it the advantage over the Sandybridge 2500k.

    Still, I suppose mine still runs all games that I've tried at a decent resolution/framerate, so it's not all bad :)
