  • Morning. Fairly new but feeling very OS this morning after some inspiration from these forums. I cooked a chicken for yesterdays dinner in slowcooker, got and extra 3 portions left for weekday dinners. Made a soup with juices by adding carrots and potatoes & water to slow cooker for dinner today, fingers crossed its okay, looks a little oily at the minute. Also made my first chicken stock from carcass yesterday, and it smells gorgeous, going to freeze it! This morning DH is still in bed, me and DS & DD have had toast, with my 2yo eating 3 slices, and 1yo eating 2 slices! I had one slice with some beans (leftover ones, that I would normally have thrown). Learning a lot and very inspired!

    Morning all,

Cold here but nothing like yesterday, I have our bedding on the line, and will do dd's next.

Oh is off at the boot sale so peacefull here for the time being, need to tidy through this morning, and we have a chap coming at 1 to collect some binoculares we sold on Ebay.

After that we will probably take little dog out for a long walk, and then home to relax, and maybe watch a film.

Dinner tonight is Gammon ( frozen from xmas) mash and peas, so nothing difficult there, and I must get the chicken out of the freezer for tomorrow.

Oh I have another few its to list on Ebay later.

Have good days all, and NPM and Flutterby I hope you are settling into your new homes xxxx

    Morning All

Cold and frosty here. The sun was out earlier but has gone back to bed I think, hope it doesn't snow!

JG, Eliza is beautiful - another one here that likes a good sniff! Babies smell beautiful.

JackieG - Hope the party went well.

Welcome to newbies (think I forgot to do that this week).

Presently having a break from 'doing' the kitchen, giving it a good clean so it's respectable for guests this afternoon, having sunday lunch about 4. Ironing done and fires lit.

Managed to get the radiators in the house to warm up yesterday, remembered the plumber telling me years ago about 'balancing' the different parts of the house and it worked. So glad as it has turned very cold now.

Enjoy your Sundays, take care. XX

    Morning All,

Sunny but cold today. WM wants to work now

Must be something in the air I did not drop off until gone 1am and then awake again at just after 4am then back to sleep by about 6am and then awake again by just after 8am. And now I feel like I have the mother of all hangovers.

Airing the house at the moment. Have been to the tip with a couple of items. No sunday roast as I want to get our heads down on this de-clutter.

Seeing as I have someone coming to sort out my radiators in the next week or so, they need access to all rooms

    Yours

    Calley

    morning all!

not caught up with the thread for a day or 2 - DH has been poorly with the flu and i've had a lot of running around to do plus had several bad heads myself.

Have just got back from taking DS to work - got a few bits of veg while I was there - he works in Morrisons and some yellow stickered cherries.

Stew for tea - meat for them and veggie for me with a veggie dumpling.:)

Hoover broke yesterday - needs a new belt so not much cleaning to do today:D Wm is on its second load. Ironing is almost upto date:T

WM also broke yesterday - wouldn't drain but DH cleared the pipes and it did the trick - then I did a 90 degree wash to clean it all out.
Thats it for now - will have a read.

Have a great sunday all x

Early service this morning and ENORMOUS pork joint been roasting gently for hours. All veg prepped and I've over-catered so there will be plenty to blitz for veg soup tomorrow.

Otherwise a lazy day until drop-in centre this evening. The Heart Foundation have left a plastic bag to be filled and left out for collection, so it will be a chance to do a bit of decluttering later.

    Hop FBs move was successful.

  • Never posted here, but am trying to embrace O/S in a bigger way this year! Up fairly early (money worries are causing DH and I not to sleep too well at the mo), chicken casserole in S/C, enough for 2 meals for the 4 of us (one lot for tomorrow and then one lot for the freezer). Load of washing done and on the clothes horse. We are off to my parents for lunch so it will be nice to be looked after for a bit. Will give DD's a bath there so even if latish home, they can watch their beloved 'Dancing in Ice' tonight! Will make packed lunches tonight, just rolls from the freezer to butter (must remember to take them out to defrost in a minute) and some soup I made yesterday that can be heated and poured into flasks in the morning.
    Have a good day everyone.
