sorry to ressurect this thread, but a similar experience happened to me. I tried phoning them only to be put on hold for about 30mins, and told I must go back in store to re register. This was about 3 weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything. I was wondering if the OP has received any communication from CPW?
Hi this has just happened to me and i hace contacted CPW and told them. They said their was an error when sending it through to o2 and they confirmed they have done it now. That was yesterday morning and just off phone with o2 they still have no record of it.... Just wondering what happened with yours?

If your sim doesn't connect then CPW will tell you to go instore where they will do a return and resale. Basically taking that first Phone off you as it wont connect, then they would try and start a new contract altogether.

If you don't do anything, you have a free Phone. Simple as that. It happens quite a lot in CPW.

At the end of each month CPW send a list to each network with all the numbers that they want paying on.Each network will then send back the numbers that they won't pay out on,CPW then investigate and they can come calling for the phone, things have changed a little over the past few years there. They will then block the IMEI number, thus you have a phone that won't work.
  • Well I signed up for a new contract about a week and a half ago.

It was for my girlfriend who was happy with her current phone but considering the price for a monthly rolling contract I thought we'd go for a deal with a token phone (10 quid job) but with a free laptop.

Called orange a few days later and they said they have no record of me whatsoever and that I need to write a letter to the carphone warehouse.

To be (dis)honest I thought, yeh good luck with that one.

I will probably sign up for a monthly rolling contract, just in case but......

Theses companies make a ton of cash, just check the billions they dodge in taxes. In my opinion take your bit of luck for exactly what it is.:p
