i dunno then maybe keep it see how it goes but dont tie yourself into a contract until a few months down the line
    What goes around-comes around
  • I could understand this mistake being made in one of their shops but not from an online order.....I'd call customer services to see if you're details are with cpw, geek squad would not hold connection details.

It's not the first time they have stuffed up. Keep the phone, keep stum and worry about it if they come calling - but they won't.

Hi, I agree with this but would not take out any further contract for 3-4 months to make sure it doesn't suddenly appear.

What did the paperwork that came with the phone say, it usually includes the contract details?

Lets hope your phone calls haven't alerted them to the situation, sit tight and see what happens.
  • This used to happen fairly often with CPW and Vodafone. The connection would get sent through via automated email and it would show on the system as sent by CPW but not received by Vodafone. We would call Voda.and they would say no details had been received. Generally this would never get connected UNLESS it was a wide spread issue in which case, teams would be contacted to resolve the issue. I've seen these errors get corrected months later so I would sort it out.

all this talk about a one month contracted ,I'd be on the phone to cpw asking why my new phone is not connected not vodafone and why wait until the 14th to do anything about it ,i would have been on the phone on the 4th to them asking when will i be able to use it not 12 day later now .
its simple to me ring cpw and give them some ear bending
there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff

Hi-I think the point that is being made is that if they never start the contract he has got a free phone off them !

There is an online order in CPW's system, and the IMEI and the adress sent to will be logged at time of dispatch. At some point a stock audit / subsidy check will reveal a discrepancy and it will be investigated.

Best asking now than waiting till they come calling and they want the full value if the phone or put a contract in place from when they contact you.

The warehouse do proper audits?! Don't make me laugh. At one point in one of the stores I worked for we had over a grands worth of stock that they'd sent to us without transferring onto our stock. According to them, the stock was in the warehouse. The warehouse tends to be by far the most disorganised and unmonitored department in the whole company.

It's best to get it sorted just in case someone switched on notices the connection error but it won't be the warehouse staff.

sorry to ressurect this thread, but a similar experience happened to me. I tried phoning them only to be put on hold for about 30mins, and told I must go back in store to re register. This was about 3 weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything. I was wondering if the OP has received any communication from CPW?
