Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 14th January. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
Hugs to Miffy, Molly & Mrs Mix, that sounds like a book title, lol.
This will be my last post for a while, my PC is going to the menders this morning & it will be there a few days, good heavens, I might have to do some housework, perish the thought.
I have a busy day today, I'm dropping hubby at work, then going to the bakers for a loaf of bread, the charity shops to look for a black skirt & blouse, the PC repair shop to drop off the puter. I have 2 people collecting books from me, a huge bean bag to repair, 2 pairs of trousers to alter & a skirt to shorten & I need to sort out the food cupboard. I shopped yesterday at Lidls, £40 for 2 weeks as I have stuff in the fridge & cupboards.
I'm off now to make my porridge & have a shower.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good morning Hester and to those who follow.
Very chilly here this morning, there was a frost on DH car when he left for work.
I will hoover right through today, washing on airer, ironing and get as much done as i can as I would like a lazy day tomorrow, if there is such a thing in my household.
Gammon is out for dinner tonight. Have salad in the fridge that needs using up so will be perfect.
Hester, i hope you are not without your pc for too long.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Mr tru drove me nuts yesterday, thankfully he's at work today.

I'm going to sand and paint a couple of shelves today. I also need to shorten a pair of curtains. Apart from that, I'm having the day offBulletproof0 -

Julie G - Congratulations XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I survived the school disco last night - they were like locusts falling onto the toys I was selling - we had to be quite forcefull in the end. Managed to sleep in my own bed last night as my floordrobe had developed into a bedrobe - but its a floordrobe again! Off to wake the troops up and then feeding time before I start on DS2s room again! YIPEE (not!)Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning All
Up early for a Saturday - DD starts work at 9 and I woke up not thinking she was up. Went to wake her and she was dressed already. Made her a sandwich to take and will meet her later for a browse around the shops. I can only buy food as we are trying to save a little, Christmas has taken its toll at Camelot Castle!!
I am ready to join your Pirate Ship, have watched Pirates of the Carribean a few times but end up just watching Captain Jack and then don't know what's going on! Would love to be on the Pirate Ship in Stardust though, Robert De Niro is fab!
Have cleaned out the fire and stripped DDs bed which is swishing away in the WM, sorted the rest of the washing ready to go in. Thought it was going to be cold and sunny today but it's cloudy so will have to dry inside.
Enjoy your weekends all, hope the moves are going well Flutterby and NPM. Will miss your posts HH, hope the puter is back soon! Take care. XX0 -
Morning all. Heavy frost here this morning a beautiful cold, crisp day, made walking the dog a real pleasure. have de-cluttered my breakfast and now getting ready for my trip to see my dear Mum and the other members of my family, it will be a very emotional day.
Captain Tru you will have to excuse me deck scrubbing duties today
but I will do lot of pirate swearing at the idiot drivers on the M4!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning everyone - good to read all the chat from when I've been away.
And we have a new baby too. Congratulations to JG and her little EG!
So sad to read about Miffy's Mum and hope you get through it all, either way. My dear Dad decided not to have continued treatment (aged 83) and was very brave about facing his own death. I hope I can face it all when the time comes for my Mum, or even me for that matter!
Been in hotels all week so glad to get back to my very own pit. I've got a cold starting, well it's been starting since Hogmanay and is only now beginning to actually develop. I could have laid in bed much longer today but got people coming from JL to do a carpet quote so it could be anytime in the morning. Best get some clothes on then, eh? :rotfl:
Did a mini-shop last night so will head out into the crowds post-carpet quote. I'd much prefer to be there early and back before now.
I'm away again on Monday until Thursday night next week  poor OH but he will manage again and enjoys the time to potter with engines and such stuff.
:lovethoug to everyone.0 -
Hugs Miffy, thinking of your and your family. Enjoy your visit to your mum xxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife
