Whoop I've scheduled my first assignment, its with GfK for phone shop, only thing I'm concerned about doing shops is the recording of timings :-/
Are these not just time in and time out?

I'm on the same assignment! And timings is one of my [many] concerns!

But that's exactly the worry I have, if I need to concentrate on *absorbing* detailed information during the visit, I'll be bad at also playing my [ubersimple] scenario. As I have a pretty good phone at the moment, I will have to invent reasons for looking for a different one! :P

Anyway, enough of complaining before I've even tried!
If these are the same ones that I am thinking of then the brief tells you not to show your phone and gives details of what to say when asked?

Think pretty much all the phone shops I've done say don't show your phone.

If I had a good phone, I wouldn't go into the shop leading with that. The point of all of these is that you're an interested customer and have to give off buying signals. Read the scenario and act according to that. Imagine you're just about to upgrade and you want a phone with X, Y, Z functions. Just think about what you WOULD like in a phone and go from that. I can usually brush past the 'What phone do you have at the moment?' by saying, oh it's some old Nokia, I don't even know - that's why I want a more up to date one with internet/apps etc.

I like the phone shops, get to play with phones!

Sorry to be really thick, but I have just recently signed up to GAP and will be doing a stamp shop. The paperwork says "opening hours" and then "9 - 5" in another section. The one I am doing open at 8.30am. Would I be able to go in at that time or does it have to be between 9 to 5? I'm confused. Thanks for the help if anyone can.

If it says "opening hours", then you can go at anytime it's open.

Aw, hold on. Does it say anyway that you're not allowed to visit between the first and last hour or half hour?
If so then it might be the 9-5 that the brief is referring to.

Have I confused you even more now? Sorry.

Mimi, my most recent stamp shops gave the opening hours (e.g. 8:30-17:30), then just said "Timeframe: Mon-Sat (Business Hours)." There was no mention of "9-5" anywhere on the paperwork. If "9-5" is only on the assignment details that you click on via Job Search, then I wouldn't worry and I'd just do the job according to opening hours.

If you have a recording facility on your phone or a dicataphone you could always record the interaction as an aide memoir but obviously you would need to keep it out of view.

Mimi?!?!? The thing that jumps out at me most about this post is the fact that you have only recently signed up to Gap?
You're one of the greediest people on here, yet you've only just signed up too the company that the majority of jobs are FOOD!!! (Well, I would use the term 'food' loosely in the burger place, but the chicken tastes goood!! :D

Agree to all the above. Why has it taken you so long Mimi?
