Did not know that, not had one for over a year but def like to know what I'm eating. Is that all stores or just some halal oriented ones? I remember a pizza shop with a small sign that their spicy beef was in fact Lamb!
Its not all shops but certainly two close to me do it and I only found out as I overheard the staff talking about it and I asked them. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
Because they prefer to work with quality not quantity unlike Re for example. There are in fact at least 3 companies that don't like a mention, but most working for them know which ones they are when discussed here. It's in confidentiality contracts that you don't discuss them. A lot of client companies don't want staff signing up to them all to see what brief and when their store will be assessed.Their allocators personally email out jobs rather than fastest finger that the mass companies use so they also don't want lots of replies to deal with. I reg get phone calls from one discussing upcoming jobs and scheduling them in, you just don't get that with the likes of well, most others.0

I see. I guess it makes sense to ensure retail staff don't sign up. But if you don't advertise and do all you can to prevent word of mouth - how do you attract shoppers? How did you find out about these firms, for example?0

Those that are 'mass market' don't necessarily need to attract that many shoppers, they only need a comparatively small team to cover areas with overlap to cover sickness / holidays etc. , it is only mass market firms (such as RE) that always need to continue attracting shoppers in order o maintain coverage as they drive fees down.0 -
The secret eating company - I know we're meant to always put a comment if scoring negatively, but do they always want a comment anyway if scoring positively. I don't want to lose points as this job will take me up to Silver (woohoo
) but at the same time, don't want to stick in lots of pointless comments that really just repeat the question back (a la Retail Eyes!!).
If it was a yes/no question and the comment is repeating the question I wouldn't bother (it will tell you at validation if a comment is needed).0 -

Most of them have only recently brought in the embargo on word of mouth. I found out about 2 of the 3 beforehand...didn't know there was a 3rd one though. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -

Same, only ever did a couple of jobs for them maybe 2.5 years ago so I'm not that bothered. I stayed registered in case they got some good clients but that never happened!0 -
Stupid coffee scales. Replaced the battery and now all the display reads is EEEE. Wonder how long it'll take them to reply to email. Not massively gutted to be postponing though - it's hailing quite heavily!0

Once you get known by people, it's word of mouth. A lot of companies want people who can write decent reports and don't let them down. I often recommend people I know to companies if they are looking for new shoppers.0
