Normally about 24 hours. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
It's that time of the year again when election offices at local councils start sending forms out to people who are interested in working at the elections. Has anyone put their name forward? I've applied to be a poll clerk and for counting. It's quite good money even though the day is very long for a poll clerk. If you are offered a position, you are guaranteed money for that day so to speak.
So if you have not already, get in touch with the elections office at your local council and see if they have any positions available. If not this year, you might as well fill a form in and say you are interested for next year. HTH someone.
PS. If you work for the local authority like little old me, you get paid from work (even though you are not at your actual place of work that day) and from the elections office too. So 2 sets of pay for 1. Wooohooo!!! (This might not be the case for all local authorities, so check first!)
PPS. I know some people mentioned that they do not get paid for doing election duties, so make sure you find out if it is voluntary or paid.0 -

As N.I.M said normally 24 hours but my last one took 48 hours for some reason, their site was crawling last night and this morning so maybe the hamster got tired. It's that time of the year again when election offices at local councils start sending forms out to people who are interested in working at the elections. Yup, most councils now make staff take unpaid leave for that day and I'd never work for free, do that and the !!!!!!s expect it all the time.0 -
