    Quick Q- Are PIP PAYE?

    No.
They ask for your NI number though if I remember correctly. This, I think, is so they can account for their payments out if HMRC ask them.
Another good reason to register with HMRC for MS work done.
  • When filling in the GFK bank jobs questionnaire is anyone else finding that the final screen for payment seems to be defaulting to zero where it always used to be automatically filled in with the amount agreed? Its nearly caught me out twice.

I had an idea for getting xmas money sorted for 2012.

I'm consistently knocking out between 2 and 6 eDigital jobs a week at the moment which I tend to do in the evenings before winding down after all my other MS reports are finished.
I send the invoice on the 1st of each month.
Since I am completely useless at saving money - if I put it in the bank it invariably comes out and gets wasted - my idea was to save up all my eDigital work till November and then send in one monster invoice.

So, since I can't find the information on their website (ironic), my question is; Does anybody know if they have a maximum I can hold on account or will they automatically pay out when it hits a certain figure.

I wouldn't do this if I were you. You just never know, particularly these days, just how safe any company is.
I would agree with what others have said - use a separate bank account, and change it so that the money is paid into there, and forget about it until Christmas.

Can I just check as well, the company that cannot be named pay automatically now without having to invoice don't they? I'm sure they sent an email round saying that a little while ago, but can't seem to find it now. I don't usually delete important emails for a while, so just wanted to check that I must have done, rather than I've imagined it?!?

I'm trying to do my tax return for 2010/2011. I registered and got an activation code a while ago and inputted it whilst it was still active. Then if I remember correctly I had some problems entering codes as there is the gateway and the self assessment tax log in areas which are completely different. By the time I worked out what to do I had given up the will to live. Now I'm struggling again to log in again. I'm using my 12 digit self assessment user ID on the HMRC self assessment log in page but it doesn't seem to like it. I went to the gateway.gov.uk site too and no joy. Have I missed something totally simple? Am I an idiot? You better not answer that one. Has anyone else had similar problems or can help me at all before I ring the helpline? Thank you.

    I'm in. Hooray!

Yes, it's done this for me too. There's a little bit of me that wants to put in a really high figure just because I can, but instead I'm sensible. I'm sure I will validate without a figure in too. I have to double check.

Quick question about AA - there's a job I did that says paid 12/1/12 but I haven't had any payment. They do only do Paypal don't they (Bare seem to sometimes do paypal and sometimes bank transfer for me and I couldn't remember whether AA was only Paypal). And if they are, I wonder where my money is.

A rare event in that I turned down a gap premium personally telephoned job – it was today or tomorrow over lunch, well, I’m at work, then they offered the later time frame which I would usually do but I have plans tonight and tomorrow. When I informed them of this they sounded rather taken aback and said ‘What, not even 5-8 before Wednesday?’ … I was like, no…! Mystery shoppers do have lives too…

ETA - Aha, got another phonecall and now doing it Wednesday night, that's better! It's been so quiet for the past couple of weeks that I'm glad of even a bit of gyp!

Was it a job on sassie or one of Emmas 'special' jobs?
The last pay run they did to paypal for sassie jobs was around the 5th and money should've cleared around the 6th or 7th.
They did pay a tad earlier for the 'special' jobs and they cleared into paypal on 5th.
I think sometimes sassie payment status doesn't tie in with reality though. I have jobs which cleared into paypal a fortnight ago but still say payment pending on sassie.

Worth giving emma (emma.carmody@amberarch.com) or Eve (eve.jetten@amberarch.com) a quick email to double check though because their payment dates can be a bit vague sometimes.
    Hope this helps.

Edit: Actually the person who may be best to help is Claire Davidson (claire.davidson@amberarch.com) since the paypal payments come from that email address so I presume she looks after the AA purse strings.

I did my first mystery shopper trip today. It was interesting. Just waiting for my report to be approved and then hopefully I can do many more!

Thanks - it was an ordinary job on sassie (and I had emailed either Emma or Eve - can't remember which) about it as did the job 2nd December and was quite keen to get paid! She said it would be paid on Thursday which is the date it says on the shopper log. I'll get in touch again and see what she says.
