Are there any programmes you can get rid of? The suggestion above of replacing your AV software would help too. I'm using MS Security Essentials, mainly due to it's lightness.

I'd replace the hard drives, they'll be causing the bottleneck. They are very mechanical and are such bound to wear and tear, plus I'm surprised they haven't failed already.

uninstall iobit smartram, nokia connectivity

uninstall kontiki unless you need it

delete the google update task from C:\windows\tasks

stop this running at startup using msconfig
