Perhaps if people could actually park in Bangor/Newtonards/Lisburn town centres as easily as they can in Bloomfields/Ards Shopping Centre/Castlebawn/Bow St Mall/Sprucefield they'd be more likely to shop on the High Street......particularly, if they could also park for free.
There is plenty of parking in Lisburn City Centre - 2 multi storeys within spitting distance of the main shopping (Bow St Mall and Bow St) but there just isnt the pull of the major retailers any longer to get people in on a regular basis. The Daily Mail

But it is most definitely not free parking.0

This is a disasterous downward spiral for Bangor, for so long there has been so little to attract shoppers and as the offer dwindles, the remaining shops will suffer and many more will close. Most head to Newtownards, Belfast or further afield these days, even Bloomfield Centre has numerous vacant units
Bloomfields is getting bad. Body Shop has gone including the little cart they used to have once they vacated their unit. The quality of the mall shacks is getting worse as they only serve to make walking through the shopping centre even harder. The big Dresswell unit, Street Life and now D2 are empty. There's also the one beside Goldsmiths and not sure who is now in the one that used to be the kids Next.Perhaps if people could actually park in Bangor/Newtonards/Lisburn town centres as easily as they can in Bloomfields/Ards Shopping Centre/Castlebawn/Bow St Mall/Sprucefield they'd be more likely to shop on the High Street...
I was actually amazed to have a choice of spaces on High Street around 3pm on Saturday. It may not be the busiest time of the day but I was on my way to the Flagship fully prepared to have to pay as the free spaces are so hard to come by.Talk of the Ulster in Donaghadee closing as well BigAl...One of the reasons I moved from Santander to the Ulster was so I didn't have to trek over to Bangor to pay money in...
I'll come and collect it from you spike

Isn't that because the only reason anyone would park on High Street currently is to offload children at Jumping Java?
