HMV in Main Street Bangor, Couny Down is closing down on Saturday 21st January 2012. What a shame, the last music store in Bangor, it will be missed. The list of shops closed or closing down in Bangor grows , D2, Jean Scene, Woodsides, Au Naturale, Price Attack.

Add to that the Northern Bank branches in Ballyholme and Donaghadee.0

What's happened to D2? I saw A4 notices in the windows of one but didn't stop to look. Not a shop I'd frequent so just being nosey. Was in Connswater earlier and there were some shops closing namely Bassets (if memory serves) and Hawkins Bazaar which I didn't even know we had over here.0

My wife tells me that Lisburn [STRIKE]town[/STRIKE] city centre has become a bit of a ghost [STRIKE]town[/STRIKE] city too.

I'm sure this is far from the last of the closures too. 0 -
This is a disasterous downward spiral for Bangor, for so long there has been so little to attract shoppers and as the offer dwindles, the remaining shops will suffer and many more will close. Most head to Newtownards, Belfast or further afield these days, even Bloomfield Centre has numerous vacant units0
