A duel fuel customer would receive the new prices on their ele, their gas prices will be as they were yesterday.0 -
SSE just announced 4.5% cut in gas prices from 26 March.

Press release from SSE for anyone interested is here.
The press release also mentions a new SSE 3 year fixed rate product from March with a 4% premium on unit prices. Is that an indication that SSE are expecting energy prices to stabilise over the next 3 years?
SSE say (spin) in their press release about the small price cutTo make sure that supplies to its customers are secure, SSE buys most of its gas months, and sometimes years, in advance of when it is actually delivered to customers. Virtually all of the gas being supplied to customers this winter was bought some time ago, but some of the gas that will be supplied to customers from the spring onwards has been purchased since the period of lower wholesale prices began. Having analysed and considered the position for some time, SSE is able to announce this reduction in household pricesWhy haven’t you reduced gas prices as well?
British Gas serves half the homes in Britain. We have to buy energy in advance to protect our customers against any sharp spikes in prices – like we saw last winter. While there have been some short-term falls in the cost of gas, the longer term trend continues to be upward.I came, I saw, I melted0 -
Energy firm Quasicartel have also announced a 5% cut.0

Any of the price comparison sites got the new prices up yet?
U Switch did not, Energyhelpline neither.

Compare that to the British Gas spin for not reducing their gas prices which looks a very weak argument given the SSE explanation
Doesn't seem weak to me - just not what you want to hear. They are separate companies and have separate arrangements and strategies in how they buy their gas and electric0 -
Crafty devils at SSE, cut gas at the end of March when it is starting to get warm and gas use for heating goes down.0
-
customers on economy 7 won't get the reduction!0
