Santander £100 cashback + £75 quidco cashback

Thanks for all replies. I am a bit unsure about switcing considering some of the complaints about Santander above. If it were a simple process I'd do it for £100 but I really dont need 3 months of stress or wondering if quidco will actually pay out (after all the negative reactions on here).0

Ive just applied for this offer through quidco, to get the cash. Does anyone know how long it takes to get a decision? Ive had a we've received your application email.Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0

whats the difference between s/orders and direct debits?
Standing Orders are set up by you and you "push" the money into the recipients account. You directly control when & how much
Direct Debits are set up by the recipient (with your authorisation of cause) and "pulls" the money from your account into theirs. They control when & how much0 -
I switched from HSBC to Santander for the free £100 and a 1 year 0% Overdraft.
6 months later i am now banking with Lloyds TSB....Santander, WORST BANK EVER!
I had various issues; not setting up DD's, taking 1 month to cash a cheque, £1000 aprox. interest for borrowing £4k for 2 months (appealed and won).
And when I had each issue I went into the branch for them to tell me 'Call Customer Services' and I call customer services to be told to 'Speak to the Branch Manager'.
Also very poor on handling complaints, It's a bog standard letter back saying how they are working with all customers on various issues etc but not actually informing you of why the issues happened.
Sorry for the rant, just my experience haha!

I agree from past experiences, at least this account is purely for the cashback and then it will be closed.goodmorningsunshine wrote: »As far as I know, the s/orders are fine, no need to switch some D/D's.
Although interesting thought in opening a second account - maybe there's a loophole there somewhere? Anybody know for sure??
Thank you I thought they would be sufficent enough.Ive just applied for this offer through quidco, to get the cash. Does anyone know how long it takes to get a decision? Ive had a we've received your application email.
I applied last night, got a email at 08:00 this morning saying ive been accepted etc so pretty quickCan I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)0 -
The answer is in the word "or".
I did think that but wanted some feedback, it is Santander we are talking about.whats the difference between s/orders and direct debits? Also can they be money pay in or has it got to be going out of the account - Cheers

So therefore it's worth a punt.0 -
Yeah - open the acct, get the bonus, close the acct, wait 3 months, then repeat.
What's the most number of times anyone has done this? Come on, own up!0 -

I switched my main current account to Santander 3 months ago. I was reluctant to leave First Direct given Santander's terrible reputation. The offer when I switched was £300 for opening current account/having savings and mortgage. You have to use their switching service.
To my complete astonishment the switch went smoothly and £300 was credited to my account yesterday. The current account even pays some interest. I haven't tested the customer service yet but do everything on line so I suspect as long as I stay in credit all will be OK. The website is quite good - better than First Direct.
I know this sounds obvious but you need to read the terms and conditions really carefully. And there is an awful lot of paperwork, most of it irrelevant. You get it to keep the bank's lawyers happy, not because it is helpful.
You don't need to close your existing account, and your bank won't do it for you so long as you keep a few £ in there. But don't be sentimental about it - banks rely on you believing you have a 'relationship' with them to make £££s out of you.0 -
I haven't tested the customer service yet
Wait until you have to use their CS. Your opinion will go 1 of 2 ways...
* If they can bother to reply to you, you'll remain happy
* If they decide that they don't feel like replying to your question (has happened to me a few times) you'll form the opinion shared by most others .... Santander are crap. It's a shame their products tend to be the best. I wont let it put me off though. I go with them due to their products offered. I just keep at them. I got a £50 apology last month.0
