Santander £100 cashback + £75 quidco cashback

Hi all,
I have just signed up to quidco so dont really know alot about how it works or what to expect.
I have been considering changing my current account for some time. I have found the Santander Preferred Current Account which offers £100 cashback for a regular current account transfer (ie without holding a mortage or savings with them). Along with this quidco are offering £75 cashback through their site ontop of the £100 cashback from Santander.
Has anybody taken advantage of this offer? I have been with my current bank provider since I was born so am a little apprehensive about switching.
One particular question I have is whether my current provider will close my account or not? I'm with Natwest.
Thanks all.

Having already "switched" to Santander's Preferred Account through TopCashBack for the £100 switch and £55 cashback, I opened a second Preferred Account (to benefit from the 5% interest rate) through Quidco. Quidco were offering £55 at the time of application, which dropped the next day to £45. It only tracked at £45, and when I raised a claim for the additional £10 the claim additional £10 was declined as I didn't meet the account conditions, which of course is rubbish as I wouldn't have got the £45 if I hadn't met the conditions. I don't use the Preferred Account for my main bank, I only "switched" an unused account from somewhere else so I could benefit from the £100 and cashback.0 -
This is bloody irritating!!
I do the searching of deals (for myself primarily - but then i pass info on to family members).
My brother applied for a Halifax account at the end of Dec. A few days later they're offering a £100 joining fee.
My mum & sister applied for Santander preferred current accounts when Quidco were offering £45 cashback. A few days later they're now offering £75 for the same damn thing.
:mad::mad:
As one preferred current account has been opened, could they open up a second and bag the £75, or is this against the "rules"?Excellent! coming up to 3 months since I closed my Santander acct.
I know First Direct seem to remember you forever, according to others, but can you leave santander & then bag this deal so long as you've been gone for 3 months?
If so, anything to back that up?0 -
From their website for the free £100 - "You are not eligible for this offer if you currently hold, or have held in the past three months, any Santander UK current accounts".
My 3 months ends in a couple of weeks so will be attempting this again (my previous attempt failed due to Santander mucking a DD up!)0 -
Ive applied for this tonight, I have used an old B'clays account and just set two standing orders up for two small amounds of £5.00 each so they can be paid from the Santander account when its set up.
The question I have is in the Ts & Cs it states "If you have less than two Direct Debits or standing orders to switch you will not receive any cashback" does that mean I have to switch some Direct Debits as well or are the s/orders sufficent enough.
Dont want to hijack the thread but thought it was relevant to the above posts. Can I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)0 -

I switched from HSBC to Santander for the free £100 and a 1 year 0% Overdraft.
6 months later i am now banking with Lloyds TSB....Santander, WORST BANK EVER!
I had various issues; not setting up DD's, taking 1 month to cash a cheque, £1000 aprox. interest for borrowing £4k for 2 months (appealed and won).
And when I had each issue I went into the branch for them to tell me 'Call Customer Services' and I call customer services to be told to 'Speak to the Branch Manager'.
Also very poor on handling complaints, It's a bog standard letter back saying how they are working with all customers on various issues etc but not actually informing you of why the issues happened.
Sorry for the rant, just my experience haha!

As far as I know, the s/orders are fine, no need to switch some D/D's.
Although interesting thought in opening a second account - maybe there's a loophole there somewhere? Anybody know for sure??Looking forward to the day I have nothing left to list on eBay0
