Sorry to hear of your problems Alf. I must admit I'm always getting emails from one place or another saying my security has been compromised (Banks, Building Societies etc), I tend to just ignore them now. Most of them I've never had an account with anyway.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

I'm always getting those too but yesterday I got a recorded phone call saying it was from Halifax Fraud Office or something so I just put the phone down. It was just like one of those calls telling you you had won a holiday. Turns out it was legit and they were trying to contact my son about a transaction. I googled the number and found out it was legit but I am shocked they use that system. It is ok once you have received one and know how it works I suppose.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Didn't realise that they did that either, sounds a bit 'off' doesn't it? Our phone rang the other day and because my OH was asleep between night shifts it was right beside me and I answered it immediately. It was a recorded message from our bank saying they were trying to contact us, it was nothing to worry about and they would try again later! They didn't even give me time to answer and haven't rung again, but what a silly system.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

Thank you for your kind replies.
This sort of thing scares me - just when i thought i was picking up the pieces and getting on ok.
I am a worrier and I get the usual bank scams which are binned straight away (thats an annoyance but i know we all get them). But to be locked out of the facebook account - due to hacker in germany - well, i am going to have to think again seriously about where this is leading. My security was good on there, just scant details anyhow. How did anyone in Germany get details of my account? May close it down if need be - can't be doing with this extra worry really.
God - I feel another fretful nightmare coming on tonight - my beautiful kitten who sleeps on my bed is in for a rocky ride!!!!! :rotfl:Bless her - I know she will still carry on purring even though mum will be having a fitful sleep!!!!
I have posted my plea in techie forum. They are a grand bunch and always so helpful. Im hoping to hear from them soon. Love Alf xxMILITARY WIVES CHOIRSHELP for HEROES0 -

Sorry to be a grouch but I shall be so glad once Mother's Day has been and gone. Although I'm a Mum myself, I lost my own Mum 3 years ago and I'm so sick of getting emails reminding me to buy her something! I'd love to be able to do that.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

Hi! Got replies from techie forum - what a wonderful bunch - so pleased I belong to this site. You are all so nice and helpful and i thank you. Techie just gave me the strength to follow thru, using facebook website address and not link and sure enough - I have changed my password to mega strength!! I am now back on facebook.
And now i am very grateful to facebook for picking up on this. However, it does make me wonder how someone in germany was trying to hack into my account (wouldnt have got much :rotfl:) and where they got my details from? Also, all the bank crap that comes thru and also rubbish phone calls (I am very particular with the info I give, but obviously somewhere along the line my details have been sold on).
Yet, being an ancient seasoned comper, guess I have to go with the times and its not going to put me off. You are all :A's Alf xxMILITARY WIVES CHOIRSHELP for HEROES0
