I still think you should do this - you will be able to break down your incomings and will get advice on how to minimise them.Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.0 -
What would be insane is allowing people to reject jobs paying £16,000 plus a year and keep benefits.
You say your outgoings....Rent, CT etc are £900 per month. What does the etc include?
Rough Outgoings
Rent = £550
CTax = £100
TV License = £13
Car Ins = £30
Phone / Internet = £30
Food = £120
Electric = £40
If the job was closer it wouldn't be a problem but with a £400 a month petrol bill it just wouldn't work

Anything else coming into the household? Did you explore whether you'd be entitled to HB/CTB or tax credits? Are you living in a property suitable for your needs? £1,200 a month take home, while not riches, is an OK wage.
£1200 a month would do me fine if it wasn't for the fuel costs.
I live in a small cottage which granted has a spare room but my son uses it when he comes to visit or else i wouldn't see him.
No HB/CTB available on that amount of income either.

I think your fuel costs are a bit out! Maybe buy a more economical car?0

No but seriously. I have a rather thirsty 2.0 Golf GTI and when I stay at my boyfriends it's a 50 mile round trip and it don't cost me that much! Granted most of the miles are Motorway Miles? :-)0

Just about 2 gallons of petrol = £12.50.
100 miles - £25.00 a day x 23 working days a month = £575.00
The poster seems to have a more economical car!!!0 -
Have you seen if you can get Working Tax Credits? Though I think you might be earning too much, just. To qualify you need to work 30+ hours week, unsure of income limit.0

Not sure...
The job was advertised last october and job centre plus have just caught up with me over it.
I'm assuming they have some sort of Big Brother monitoring system that has flagged this up. Although i don't know why its taken so long for them to contact me over it.
I''m just going to explain my outgoings and how because of the high fuel cost i would actually be in the red each month.
Cheers everyone0
