Why was your printer on the floor?Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

My house was flooded from the front door right the way through to the patio doors with about 5 inches of water. The insurance company were great they sent an assessor the next day and he was fantastic and advised me not to run to complete the claim as water does vast amounts of damage. I too have a child and the smell was horrid. We basically lived upstairs for quite a while! The assessor got the wheels in motion and I have all sorts of people contacting me really quickly. The most important thing I did was to take photographs of all the damage. I had wooden floors and carpet, wooden furniture, settees, computer, kitchen kickboards, everything down stairs had water damage. The same day the assessor came round, another company came and then took up all floor and carpet and installed de humidifiers. I had them for 8 weeks. They took the settee etc away to be professionally cleaned. All the wooden furniture was taken away to be professionally polished and water marked removed. They arranged to have the place redecorated etc. I needed a new computer, floors, carpets etc. The insurance paid everything out as we went and the final claim came to about £8000.00 It is because of the fantastic response and excellent service that I have been with the same insurance company for over 10 years. Worth mentioning though that some of the claim fell under buildings and some fell under house, so luckily I had a joint policy which did make life easier.... So I think my company are worth the £48 a month I pay them. It took a while but my house was straightened eventually. Good luck0

Thanx so much, yes the whole of downstairs was flooded and the kitchen right upto the kickboards which OH has removed and everything is ready for the assessor to see.OH also took photo's aswell.it really is upsetting isnt it,we had just finished decorating the whole of downstairs before xmas, cost us nearly £1000 to get everything done so u can imagine how i felt when it happened.i just hope it can all be done before we get married august, luckily no furniture was damaged just flooring and some electrical items, the ceiling will have to be replaced as it has a hole in it now.i just want to get the wheels in motion soon as.this year was supposed to be our new start, newly decorated house and getting married then this, brings u down.but thank you for taking the time to reply, gives me hope0

silky180, who was your insurer? It may be helpful to anyone looking for insurance at the moment to have a personal recommendation.0
