Great news about the interest for you. That will be my next battle in the saga I think, trying to get them all to stop it.
Hmmm....not sure, I dont think they can mark them as 'late' payments as technically they wont be late, just less. I am sure there will be some form of button they can press to tell my credit file how bad I have been though. I just hope whatever they do, doesnt last for more than 6 years!!
Santander told us that they wouldn't default us for at least 7 months if we continued to make the agreed payments. They did freeze interest. Our advisor has told to us to actually ask all of our creditors to default us immediately , so that the 6 years begins asap . We haven't actually down this as yet as we are just settling into everything, although two creditors have defaulted already. It is something I intend to look into next month though.
As far as I know, although your payments won't technically be late they still won't be for the required amount, therefore your credit file will show as overdue / late payments, so it will still affect your credit rating.LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

I wouldn't worry, we have a Capital One , now being dealt with my Fredrickson and an MBNA which has just been taken over by Wescot. Both have been fine to deal with, interest frozen and they have accepted out payment offers with no qualms at all.LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hi
Bit of advice needed regarding letting agents please. I entered into my DMP in December, had about 5 default notices since. I have been renting privately at my present address for about 7 years. I am just looking at renting another property with a letting agent and have heard they do credit checks. Looking through the forums there is conflicting information, some say the letting agency can only see if you have CCJ's and insolvency orders ( I have none of these) others say they are given your credit score and if it's low won't accept you.. Any advice appreciated
Thanks0 -

Lettings agents can only see the public information from your credit report - that is CCJs, bankruptcy, IVA etc.
They do not see the account data so cannot see defaults/arrangements to pay/missed payments etc that you will likely have showing as the result of being in a DMP. Nor can they see a score based on that information.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks for replying Tixy. I did think only companies who you apply to for credit would be able to see this information.0

Afternoon dmp'ers
I had a letter from cccs today:
"The above creditor (fairfax solicitors ltd) has advised that they are unable to accept the reduced payment proposal we have recently offered because of: larger payment offer required. "
This was an old tax bill that we found out about after we started the dmp last year and we added it on...it had been passed to the creditor above. I assumed they were like debt collectors as the tax office were no longer dealing with it. So does this mean they will default us and pass on to a DCA now>
CCCS have said they will continue to send the payments they agreed and we will have to wait and see what happens. I hate waiting to see what happens !!!!

Hi,
I've not posted in a while as so far everything has been going really well with the DMP with the CCCS but we have had to reduce the payment recently and now I am currently expecting a baby in May so I'm worrying about what will happen when I'm on maternity pay!!
I want to continue to pay something to them obviously but at the moment have no idea how much it will be.Also will there be any pressure from the CCCS for me to return to work sooner than the 9 months. I am intending to take the 9 months off as that is how long I get some pay for.Basic statutory pay of £128.73 a week will be what I am bringing home. I know things like Child benefit will be increased but i am worried as to what will be an acceptable amount without them trying to take me to court as that terrifies me.
I didn't know if it would be worth me writing the creditors a letter from myself nearer the time explaining to them my intentions to raise the payment when i return to work so that they can see my commitment to the debts/payments but that due to payments etc I will have no choice but to lower the payments ??
If anyone has any experience with going on maternity leave while on a DMP i would be truly grateful.
For everyone starting out I can honestly say that although I am still stressed due to this new situation with the maternity working along side the CCCS has made our debt situation a whole lot easier and now we can see an end in sight even if it is ages away... so if you are thinking about doing this then go for it.
This support thread has been briliant too makes you realise you are not the only person who has made bad choices but is now trying to fix it :-)0
