Oh dear, I'm expecting loads of these "we're not accepting this" type letters when the new payments go out. I'm sure, though, that they'll accept whatever payments you send - bet they don't set them back with a note saying "this isn't good enough, must try harder" :rotfl:Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
Oct 2012 = Current debt: £40,548.93
Oct 2013 = Current debt: £39.054.70

Hi Everyone started my DMP in Dec and just had a letter to say my MBNA loan has been sold to AOF 2 Sarl and is being ran by Moorgate Loan Servicing. I have told CCCS today....do I need to worry about them or will things just carry on as thay are? Hope someone can share their experiences thanks
Hi Siraz,
Weve been on our DMP for 2 years now, over that time some of our creditors passed on the debt to debt collection agencys....we just carried on as normal and if you receive any calls or letters from them just tell them who your DMP is with and they will just accept that payment.
Hope this helps and dont worry its not as scary as it seems now

Hi Everyone,
Our 2nd DMP review is tomorrow,we currently pay about £300pm on 40k of debt and think we are going to have to reduce this to £200pm and are worrying if this will upset the creditors and make them likely to take us to court etc....
Worried here...
Has anyone been in this position before?
Thanks,

We're in this position now.
We paid about £450 a month to CCCS, as of March we're going to be paying £290 so I'm expecting some grumbling..Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Hi,
I don't know, but I do suspect, that lots and lots of people are having to reduce DMP payments due to circumstances at the moment, I wouldn't worry too much. Basically the creditors can only have what you can afford - they know this and whilst they'll probably grumble and gripe and threaten, for the most part they'll take what they're given.

I agree with you SAAC, the financial pressures on the average wage earner are increasing and lots of people will have to reduce their DMP payments as their costs rise and their pay doesn't. I think as long as you can show genuine reasons for reducing your payments then preditors can't do a great deal about it. As it has been said before they can't have what you haven't got :T

well i sent everything back to CCCS yesterday, special delivery so they should have got it today. what happens next? do i just wait to hear from them? how long roughly will it take for them to get back to me?
i feel a little bit sick now to be honest, a bit like "well, theres no going back now!" im on this massive roller coaster of emotion and one day im strong and positive and accepting of the fact ive asked for help but then other days im like this and feel, well, a little bit of a failure that ive not been sensible enough to manage it by myself. But i shall try and remain positive because its a good thing im dealing with it, i know that. i just want everything to go smoothly.0 -
Hey mono,
For what it's worth, try to remember that all of us seem to have to go through this rollercoaster - relief mixed with fear mixed with failure mixed with guilt mixed with relief......:o Like you say, focus on the fact that you're making good and sensible decisions to deal with your debt problems. Look forward, not back.
What will happen next is that you'll get a letter telling you that it's set up and will confirm your payment date. From what I remember, it's a pretty quick turnaround.

Hi,
I've not posted in a while as so far everything has been going really well with the DMP with the CCCS but we have had to reduce the payment recently and now I am currently expecting a baby in May so I'm worrying about what will happen when I'm on maternity pay!!
I want to continue to pay something to them obviously but at the moment have no idea how much it will be.Also will there be any pressure from the CCCS for me to return to work sooner than the 9 months. I am intending to take the 9 months off as that is how long I get some pay for.Basic statutory pay of £128.73 a week will be what I am bringing home. I know things like Child benefit will be increased but i am worried as to what will be an acceptable amount without them trying to take me to court as that terrifies me.
I didn't know if it would be worth me writing the creditors a letter from myself nearer the time explaining to them my intentions to raise the payment when i return to work so that they can see my commitment to the debts/payments but that due to payments etc I will have no choice but to lower the payments ??
If anyone has any experience with going on maternity leave while on a DMP i would be truly grateful.
For everyone starting out I can honestly say that although I am still stressed due to this new situation with the maternity working along side the CCCS has made our debt situation a whole lot easier and now we can see an end in sight even if it is ages away... so if you are thinking about doing this then go for it.
This support thread has been briliant too makes you realise you are not the only person who has made bad choices but is now trying to fix it :-)
Hiya
Do not post on here often, but I wanted to let you know that my circumstances were similar, but our debts are HUGE.
We started our DMP in October 2009, and I discovered I was (VERY unexpectedly) pregnant in March 2010. I have to say that CCCS (and if I am honest our creditors) were great and in the main very understanding. Our DD2 was born in November 2010 and I was able to reduce my payment in October 2010 to allow me to buy a few bits (i.e. cot, pram etc) as my eldest daughter was 7 and we had kept none of her things. Then in December 2010, our payment reduced as may pay reduced until April 2011 when my pay stopped and I was only getting SMP. I have to say I felt under no pressure from CCCS ot my cvreditors to return to work prior to my 9 month maternity period being up - in fact at then end of this, I had to have an additional month at the reduced payemt as my car packed in and we had to get a new (second hand obviously) one.
The one thing I did do was to be VERY realistic with my budget and err on the slightly high side of expenditure, as no matter how hard you try, babies always end up costing a little emore than you think. Although I did get some bits and bobs of clothes etc from e-bay as I am a relatively seasoned e-bayer, I have to say that I found this could be a bit of a poisoned chalice (as not everyone's idea of good used condition is the same!!!). I found supermarket clothes were great, but I have to be honest and say that the first year has been hard what with the increasing nappies and the changes of clothes sizes every 3 months!!!
We are out the other side now and DD is 15 months old. The only bummer I have found out this week is that we are now above the new £ 26000 threshold for Child Tax Credits, so we lose that in April
Sorry if this was a bit of a ramble, but I hope it may help and put your mind at rest.
