Co-op bank has been very slow over Christmas and can only just see activity from 21st December so still can't fully work out our budget for January. There was a mile long queue at the cashpoint and I broke my cash only rule and spent in at least 5 shops on the debit card and now I can't find the receipts so am playing banking catch up
Fridge and freezer is full of left overs and Asda Boxing Day bargains and I still have cash on the Sainsbury gift card so will be living cheaply until we return to work. Not having to put £80 of diesel in the car each week for 2 weeks will improve the post Christmas spending no end
We have an abundance of alcohol remaining and have already sent daughter home with a wine carrier full, as no-one drank much on any of the holiday days/nights. Most unusual for this household! Anyone for a Baileys?
Sounds like a good balance twinny!

OK you two are the geek prize winners of 2012. As you are twins you will have to share the first prize equally. No fighting now:DDMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

I've been in hiding for the christmas period
Hideously overspent and will be playing catch-up in January. Luckily I still receive student finance so it will just take a bit of fiddling with the budget and the finance payment due on the 9th to get back on track. We will be prepared next Christmas! I think I was a bit optimistic with what we could achieve with setting up the new budget a month or so before Christmas, but I've slapped my own wrist and am ready for the new year

It does take some planning, but a bit put by each month will mount up. If you think you have stretched yourself too much with the DMP payments have a word with whoever you are with. You have got to live!!!Debts as of June 2012 - £68,986.35Now £27,470.20 :T57% of debts cleared:beer:0 -
could someone just check a letter that i am about to send a creditor about a settlement, just to make sure i have covered all the bases?
I write with reference to the money which you are claiming on the above account.
I can confirm that I am unable to offer to pay the money which I owe in full. I have been in financial difficulty for just over 1 year now and I am on a Debt Management Plan with CCCS/StepChange. I am currently only able to pay you £xxx a month. However, I can raise £xxx and I want to offer this as an ex-gratia payment in full and final settlement of the account. This offer is made on the clear understanding that, if accepted, neither you nor any associate company will take any other action to enforce or pursue this debt in any way whatsoever and that I will be released from any liability.
I also request that, if accepted, you will make an entry on a credit reference agency file relating to the above account as having been paid and the account closed.
Payment can be made within 28 days of receiving your written agreement of this offer and method of
payment.
I look forward to receiving your reply.

Hello all
Just got a letter from MBNA - Interest frozen. Great Result. Unfortunately I also received a letter from StepChange. They could not set up my direct debit. I logged on to the website and set it up in two seconds but it won't be in time for my first payment. Can phone Step Change and pay by debit card when they are open? This will put my plan off before it starts! Will get there eventually.0
