I would like to share my progress on my dmp..

I've been on it now for about 18 months and i have managed to pay of £12.000, i have another £23.000 to go, should finish it Dec 2015. It has been very hard at time and on sometimes I have been down to my last few pounds at the end of the month...and I have felt really low at times

This may sound 'tight-fisted' but my total spend on xmas presents came to £10.00, I bought second hand books for my Dad and some gifts for my niece & nephew...i was nervous about the reaction my presents would get, but everyone loved them, my Dad said, 'those books must have cost a lot'....so I feel happy today...only 3 more years to go ;)

Great progress and well done on keeping Xmas in budget. Feel free to ask for budget review if the dmp payment is making you miserable. You cant buy back time afterall.

Glad you got positive response for the thought you put into your presents, people are important not the posessions.

Well done on the Christmas spend.. Once the pressie giving is over its easier and time to enjoy the day. We have been making the left overs into all sorts of food ready for January.

  • I am embarrassed to say, I made a bank payment and updated my spreadsheet on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day :o

Co-op bank has been very slow over Christmas and can only just see activity from 21st December so still can't fully work out our budget for January. There was a mile long queue at the cashpoint and I broke my cash only rule and spent in at least 5 shops on the debit card and now I can't find the receipts so am playing banking catch up

Fridge and freezer is full of left overs and Asda Boxing Day bargains and I still have cash on the Sainsbury gift card so will be living cheaply until we return to work. Not having to put £80 of diesel in the car each week for 2 weeks will improve the post Christmas spending no end :D

We have an abundance of alcohol remaining and have already sent daughter home with a wine carrier full, as no-one drank much on any of the holiday days/nights. Most unusual for this household! Anyone for a Baileys?

Guilty of sales shopping and spreadsheet gazing too!

Just nipped for supplies. Now cooking reduced veg for the freezer. Bagged a half price and then reduced further 10lb gammon for £9.48 so that's in the slow cooker already, massive bargain at 30p a portion! Just planning on buying eggs, milk, bread, fruit and veg between now and end of Jan.

Aldi have nice jars of pate reduced, long shelf life, venison, partridge, wild boar, duck for 49p. Also got some reduced cake toppers and tea tree lights for next year.

Tesco have £4 off slow cookers so 3litre for £8 if anyone can make use of another.

Hope people are ok and managing the odd bargain or two.
