  • Maybe it's a busy time of year. I've never had to wait long to speak to someone...

  • Which brings me to the point of my message, why is it so difficult and so expensive to contact CCCS and why do they have an 0800 number for initial enquiries and then an 0845 number for clients?

I must admit I've wondered that myself. We have a telephone thing where we get much cheaper calls to local numbers after 7pm, which is too later for the CCCS, so if we have to ring them, it's costing more.

Thanks for the advice, I can't believe that in this day and age creditors still try and scare you rather than help you.

  • You should raise this with one of the CCCS advisors (to be found in the sticky thread at the top of DFW forum) as it's not on if it's eating all your phone credit.

Thanks very much sickasachip but can you please excuse my newbie ignorance and tell me what/where the DFW forum is? :o

  • It's the Debt Free Wannabe forum. Look at the top of the list of posts there's a sticky post where you can leave a message for someone from CCCS

About 2 weeks ago wrote to the Halifax in respect of both our ccs as the Halifax has started charging interest again. We had a reply re husbands account stating they will look into the compalint and then to day they wrote re my cc They said they were sorry I was compalining about the PPI on my cc? I had not even mentioned PPI, only reduction of interest. So it just shows they have not got a clue. Oh well I will just use it as evidence of poor service if I need to take the complaint further to the FOS.

hi all. im trying to set up a dmp at the moment (see other thread) have set myself up a basic bank account just need to make it functional and have all incomings/outgoings come out of that. its with natwest not long how long itll take. I only really faced up to my debt yesterday and have to say i feel relief in a way that im finally trying to do something about it. just getting all paperwork together to show how much i owe to each creditor and then will proceed to a DMP most likely with CCCS as they seem to be most recommended. just thought i'd say hi as i think ill be a long term presence.

Halifax started to charge interest again on my cc. I phoned them up and they said it was standard to increase it after 6 months, I pointed out that my other creditors were charging far less interest and they agreed to reduce it back to the previous level. Give them a ring , you'll probably get a result that way

Daz can you confirm if you are charged zero interest?
  • Hi there Mon1o

Sounds like you've had your LBM (light bulb moment) and you're getting things started - well done :-)

Yes, join in. You'll find this thread and the one that preceeded it (DMP Mutual Support Thread 7) I'm sure full of useful advice - I know I did when I washed up here about 18 months ago.

We're with CCCS, 16 months now, I can't fault them tbh. I did a short blog, at CCCS' request, which you can find by googling the info in my sig, hyou might find it useful/interesting.

    Welcome aboard,
