  • Hi all,
Nothing much to report except I just checked into CCCS (I do this once a month to check everything on their system tallies with my statements received) and saw this message:

"If you are contacting us about a debt you have with MBNA that has been transferred to another company, you do not need to make a transfer online or contact us at this time.

We are dealing directly with these companies to ensure the successful transfer of your account."

There must be loads and loads of us that have been shifted by MBNA. They don't love us anymore!

I've got the same message on CCCS. No idea they had shifted it until I saw that! They must be having a real good clear out.

    Hi all,

So my DMP first payment reaches creditors around 25th Feb. Got a letter today from NatWest that they will charge £6 per day as I have gone over my overdraft limit (due to an interest payment on the overdraft on 25th Jan) until I am back within overdraft.

    Sigh.

I went through 2 years of charges on just Santander and it was over £400  so good knows what 6 years would be like probably around £1500 even bigger  . Thing is it would all most clear my Abbey CC which i would love to do.

Hi:). I was getting charged interest and charges on my Payplan DMP with Santander. I explained to Payplan that I was therefore going to write a letter to Santander pointing out the I unfairness of this. Using the Payplan template I did so and low and behold in got a letter few weeks letter from said bank apologising for their 'oversight' and refunding the charges / interest.:j

Payplan stressed that they do enclose a request to stop charges and interest, however sometimes perhaps a little reinforcement is needed:T

    Hi,

Fight them Typhoo - the best advice I can give is not to take it lying down - you might not win but you'll feel better for battling it. Get advice from your DMP provider but start fighting them.

Thanks SAAC, I've sent a letter to NatWest and also notified CCCS.

  • Hi everyone,

Feeling abit sick this morning dreading how many charges Lloyds will add to my account (has gone over the overdraft limit when they took charges out and a £15 direct debit I forgot to cancel) I did receive a letter stating they charge daily, yet I thought this had changed? They are my biggest creditor at just over £3000 and the main one I'm concerned about.... I haven't heard from the them regarding ther DMP as CCCS have only contacted them this week due to me setting up new account and arranging payments etc. I have heard they are very difficult though :(

Also wondered how many people on here have been taken to court by their creditors and had CCJs?

    Morning

Sorry to hear you are having the wobbles. You might want to think about investing your energy into budget planning, shopping lists, clearing out etc. It's amazing how much everyone says it makes them feel better and to break the worry cycle.

I think it is normal to be worried at the start. My debt went up by 2.5% (and it was huge) at the start but it does start to come down. Creditors typically apply interest for at least three months. Just keep writting to them saying you have already notified you are in financial difficulty and yet they keep adding to that burden which is unfair especially as you have kept them informed and made a commitment to pay back in full. If they continue report them to FOS. There are template letters for everything on here and on the National debtline website.

Very few people by comparison get a CCJ. Of those that due most of them say although nerve wrecking the courts actually made interest be suspended so in the end they werre better off.

    Hope you feel better soon.
