Do you think marks and spencers will offset against my account?

Hi I have been managing my partners CCCS dmp for about 18 months now in order to get the gas and electricity down I change providers at this point we end up with a bill from both supplers at the same time now one of them as passed the it to Scott call now we do dispute this but the problem is cccs as got it down as an unregister and have therefor cancaled the dmp I have rung and told about this but we work it difficult to get to the aftercare team in the week. Now they cancel it not sure what to do I also have not told her yet as I am very worried about the impact it will have
  • Hi to all my fellow DMPers:)

I thought I hadn't had any emails to check the thread recently, I didn't realise it had gone onto a new one!

Our first DMP payment went out on the 10th Jan, so we are on our way.

God it's hard thinking about every penny you spend though isn't it? I feel like I don't know what the heck I am doing money-wise now, I really need to get to grips with the budget.

DMP-wise, we have only had a couple of arrears letters and no phone calls as yet so it seems to have started out fine.

Hope everyone else is going okay, I really need to post more here, I have found this forum so useful and need to put back what I am getting out of it.

    Hi
I can't help you re: the bills, but try emailing the CCCS. I have done this and got a response when I am stuck at work. I have also replied to one of their texts and got a response from that too.
Hopefully someone else will come along who is more helpful!

I'd call the National Debtline for advice. Afterall CCCS are not the only DMP providor, they may suggest going with another one. CCCS will only discuss their options.

    Good luck.

Probabably not, presonally I would not risk it. I changed to Coop and was fully set up with wages transferred within a few days.

    Good luck.

Well done, first few months are the hardest but it does get easier. Planning is the absolute key to getting more for less. And just think how much more money you will have post DMP when you are not paying it all the the banks in interest!

Please do post. These things only work if there is a cirtical mass of contributors. It can be frustrating when people only ever post when they want something but never do their share to support others.

Hope your first few months go as smooth as possible.

    Hi all,
I'm a little worried about how the next few months are about to pan out.
I'm sat with my husband going over our DMP which we are in the process of setting up with CCCS. After going over this thread we've noticed that some of you have had more problems with creditors than others and we're worried that we're doing the wrong thing.
We have two kids 20 and 23 and cant bear the thought of constant phone calls and calls to work etc...
    Our debts are with
Santander OD 3,000 CC 4,000 Unsecured loan 7,000
    M&S CC 5,500
    Barclaycard CC 7,500 & CC 1,800
    Virgin 1,000

Any thoughts on how these will react
Just in the process of opening a new account with the nationwide
    Thanks in advance

    Welcome

I suggest you go back to parts 6 and 7 and read through. You will see that everyone goes on a journey. Often rocky at the start but usually settles down, some people have odd blips here and there. The thing is for most people it is better than the alternative!

You can stop calls to either place. Send your letters recorded delivery, there's templates on here and and national debtline saying you only want to be contacted in writing, no phone calls anywhere or doorstep calling. Then if they do call either tell them you are on a DMP and give them your number or... ask them for their name and details and say you will be in touch. Then either complain to them or report them to FOS, easy. You do have rights - they just rely on you not knowing them!

    Good luck HHx

On top of the excellent advice HH provides, also consider the alternatives. Do you want to carry on paying minimum payments to your creditors (assuming that's what you're doing), with no end in sight? It will be difficult at the start, but at least there will be an end to it eventually!
