Feeling down about my DMP with CCCS today, I feel like I'm going backwards. I started mine in Aug 2011 and things went really smoothly but then in Nov my car broke down and I had a HUGE repair bill so I had to reduce my payment for that month as I hadn't been on my DMP long enough to build up any kind of emergency reserve. CCCS were really good about it and I informed all my creditors in writing (not one of them acknowledged my letter though!!).
I have reverted to paying the full amount in Dec & Jan, but now I am getting hassled again by some of my creditors saying I am in arrears. I appreciate that I didn't stick to my end of the agreement in November but I really had no choice and there is no way I can pay the all the arrears.
I am feeling so low about my debts today - I haven't felt like this since before I started on my DMP. I went on the CCCS website today and even the fact that I have already paid off £2532 since Aug 11 hasn't cheered me up all I can see it the balance remaining. My DFD seems so long away (I know its only 3 years) but it seems such a struggle.
My income & budget have changed since I set up my DMP and I now have less income but I have tried to make savings elsewhere instead of reducing my DMP payment.
ARRRGHHHHH!!! anyway it's lovely weather today so I think a nice long walk with the kids is in order, at least its free and I might start to feel better, and if not at least I will sleep tonight!

Sorry you are down. We will get there together.
I have had a to change my DMP payment a number of times, all on CCCS advice and each time it has been like going back to square one with the Preditors.
Complain to the Preditors is my advice. Before you do that though make sure your budget is realistic. If not now may be a good time to get it adjusted so you are in with a chance of sticking to it with less disruption.
Let us know how you get on please.

We haven't got an MBNA letter - I feel so left out!
Our bank has, yet again, contacted the CCCS and told them that they won;t accept our DMP until the account is closed. Mr BR has written to them *twice* now, requesting that they close the account with immediate effect. Not sure what we we can do now really.
Feel a bit down today (just for a change) as we've had to finally admit defeat and cancel our milkman. He's a lovely old fella and we've got to be on friendly, chatty, tems with him over the years, but he was costing us £17 a month for milk...Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
Oct 2012 = Current debt: £40,548.93
Oct 2013 = Current debt: £39.054.70

Did he send his letters recorded so you can be certain they've received them? If so can you give the royal mail tracking number to CCCS to enable them to argue the point?SPC5 #1457 Long hauler #293

Hi everyone, not been on for ages so I hope you are all well. I have a concern about something that just happened. Myself and my wife have been doing a DMP since roughly 2009. When we started part of our debt was over 4 accounts with HSBC totalling about £10k or so. Initially we had a lot of trouble from them phoning all the while and we also had letters from Metropolitan (who I believe to be their collection agent), but have had no contact since Jan 2010. The smallest of the debts with them finished in Dec. Just got my Jan statement and that debt has been replaced by £3500 debt being paid to Metropolitan! I am now concerned that an enormous amount of interest has been applied over the years. But surely this is excessive to the point of being ridiculous?0

That's crazy!! Were you getting monthly statements from them showing no interest being applied? Are you self-managed or with someone that can help you??
Wish I had some advise but am new to this. Am sure someone will be along with words of wisdom soon.SPC5 #1457 Long hauler #293

No, we didn't, but we did hand deliver them to the branch. We also have the name of someone who actually told me on the phone that she had his first letter in front of her but she needed it clarifying and would he call in? He wrote her another letter, a clearer letter, at that point, and again, we hand delivered it (she works in the branch). We've told CCCS this. I guess, if we get a response again like this, we'll have to go recorded, although we can't really afford it.Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

I'd be inclined to write to the central customer services centre and complain and also demand the account is closed wittin 3 working days of receipt. We wrote to lloyds and they closed the account on the day they opened the letter.
Recorded is ok, not too expensive at all. However special delivery is the one to avoid!!
Sounds like you branch may not know what they are doingSPC5 #1457 Long hauler #293

Hey Guys,
Well i have sent all the reduced payment letters to the preditors and also made the reduced payments so will see what happens.
I am having a real problem with NDR (internal collections for Very catalogue) they wont accept my £30 per month, but i have just written to them to take me to court then, as that is the absolute maximum i can afford, I have sent I&E sheets and also a breakdown of all my preditors and payments pro rata...
Does get you down sometimes
