    Back briefly, work's mad at the mo

    Can I just say I only knew about the two financial snowballing methods. It was a cyber pal on the Paddle thread that made the same mistake as 2spicy did on google. :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Just a little update from myself

    1st payments have been made by cccs, whoooaaaa what a relief. Everything going smoothly at moment so all good news with the DMP..

    Correction!! not all good news im affraid, Yesterday evening my little one only goes and pulls the tv over, luckily not onto her. the tv is beyond repair, well so i think.

    I have contacted the insurance company with regards to this matter, they seemed ok about it, then again i have never claimed on any insurance, so dont know how the process goes. Anyhow I was asked to send in a claims form, which they have emailed me also 2 quotes for a new TV, and the original receipt of the tv that has been accidentally damaged, along with an engineers report.

    I dont mind doing all this but a little advice as to regards with an engineers report would be helpful. I would have to pay for this service surely??

    So things were looking up then in a moment things are right back to normal worrying any help will be appreciated

    It seems that CCCS wrote to HSBC in August saying that they should reply if they reject the offer. Since then they have made 2 payments which have been readily taken by HSBC. They did not write to CCCS to reject the offer so it seems they are just playing silly b*****s with me. CCCS seem happy to split the dmp so I'm thinking of doing that.
  • DMP payment went on 10th October, the creditors have been paid today, everything has gone smoothly so far.

    Thanks to everyone for their advice, even to Gopher Money who suggested a DMP, even though I didn't go with them (thank goodness) but if it hadn't been for them I'd never have heard about a DMP and wouldn't have checked these boards for more information.

    Big thanks to the CCCS with whom I have started this journey! I say I as the vast majority of the debts are in my name but I actually mean we as this is a shared journey between myself and my other half.

    The light at the end of the tunnel is a tiny speck at the moment but today we are one step closer to seeing it as a great big beam of light!

    Have they charged interest, as I have heard nothing at all from the Halifax as to whether they have accepted the offer or not but no interest has been added to the account since?

    Oh yes! Interest, arrears, late fees - the whole caboodle.

    Santander didn't reply but did the same - no interest charged on the statement, bless em.

    HSBC are just being awkward and non co-operative. They're saying they've have nothing from cccs (but they have taken 2 payments off them!). I won't play their games. They either meet me halfway or I''l do a solo dmp and they'll get tokens. I wouldn't mind but it's my ONLY debt!

    Hi,

    Sorry I haven't posted for a couple of weeks, I have been reading though.

    I've jsut been updating all my notes and thought I'd let you know how my DMP with CCCS is going so far:

    13 Creditors:
    Lloyds overdraft = Charging interest and account fees =£48 per month!
    Lloyds C/C = No interest
    Barclaycard = No interest
    Virgin Money C/C = No interest
    Next = No interest
    Halifax O/D = Fees coming out of my ears!
    Halifax C/C = Interest at 27% plus late and overlimit fees (Total £100 per month)
    Lloyds Loan = Can't get a statement
    Lloyds C/C (Hubby) = No interest
    Evans = No interest
    House of Fraser = No interest
    Burton = No interest
    NRAM Unsecured loan = No statement so not sure what's happening

    So out of the 13 creditors it's only Halifax (O/D and C/C) and Lloyds (O/D) that are being a pain. How do I go about getting them to stop the interest? I pay £25 per month to Lloyds for my platinum account which gives me a reduced interest rate so do I cancel this platinum cover and end up paying the higher interest rate but still be no worse off as it's abotu what I pay with the account fee and interest rate combined? If I do this do I then plead for them to freeze all interest?

    Any help would be most gratefully received.

    Loving all the slow cooker ideas, I'm following Slimming World at the moment so am going to try and see if there are any recipes it could work on.
  • Hi Hunnies

    In a similar situation with Halifax, they haven't applied any charges to the overdraft or credit card yet but we have received a letter saying they accept our reduced payments for a 6 month period, after that the overdraft will be reduced to 0.

    They also said they will continue to apply interest and charges but as of yet they haven't done. The monthly overdraft fee is almost identical to the offer of payment they have accepted from CCCS, it won't be long before we go over the O/D limit and then the charges will mount up even more!

    I have received nothing from the credit card but no interest or late/missing payment fees have yet been added to the account but suspect it is only a matter of time, having read what you have written!
