  • That's really out of order :(

What has happened previous years about emptying the tank? I would calculate the cost v your estimates and ask for the difference back.

Just exactly what I was thinking :)
  • Hi all:)

I'm just on the brink of starting a DMP through CCCs as I've become overwhelmed by my debts.

Before I send back my paperwork, I have a question if anyone can help please.

It asks me to send back proof of income, I take it that this is my wage slips, but how many do I send back?

Is 1 months enough or do I need to send more?

Well actually nothing. Our tank is huge and there are only two of us living here so it has never been emptied. It didn't need emptying as far as we could see but I think it is in our contract (which I will have to go and have a look at to check) to have it emptied. However if my landlord felt it was necessary to have the tank looked at then I feel it should be up to me to choose who did it and to get the best price, not for them to just present me with a bill with no consultation or prior notice. It is just plain rude.

Evening everyone. Nice to see all the support and the polite disagreements!

I'm a bit peeved. My landlord, without my permission I hasten to add, sent someone to empty our septic tank and has sent me the bill of £125. Now I appreciate that the tank has to be emptied but having phoned around I could have got it done a lot cheaper. I have complained because for all they knew I could have had the tank emptied the week before, and they didn't give us any notice that someone would be entering our property which I thought they were obliged to do. I have rented from them for over 8 years now so am not happy to be treated with such indifference.

Just watched a programme that said you pee less if you drink milk rather than water. Might save you some money? :rotfl:

    Hi callistris and welcome :hello:

I think we were asked for 3 months but CCCS seem to work out income on tax paid so it may vary per person. I would give them a quick call and ask.

Well done on starting out on your debt free journey :T

    Well it might:rotfl:

I am not intending to pay anything at the moment. I am arguing the point with them that if they are expecting me to pay for something then I get to decide who I pay and the price I pay. It would be like your mortgage provider deciding on who supplies your gas or electric and you don't get a say.
