Reading the last few posts has made me think. I'm sorry I can't help as my debts are still with the originator but I was wondering if your debt gets passed onto a third party do they also add interest? Can you negotiate reducing interest with them?0

Our mortgage is fully up to date but with the Halifax - can they do anything like cancel our mortgage? Just a question as this has spooked me a bit...
No being on a DMP won't affect your mortgage. It is a separate loan and if it is being paid then there is no reason to make any changes to it. Your mortgage is a priority debt and will always come first in a DMP and your mortgage provider will know that.Reading the last few posts has made me think. From what I have read on this thread previously interest usually stops when a debt is passed onto a DCA. All my debts passed onto DCA's are not incurring any charges or interest and they have all accepted the same payments that I was paying to the original creditor.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

That sounds good to me. I might suggest it to HSBC :rotfl:0 -

No, I think I will do so though just didn't want to stir the pot until I here about the credit card as that is by far and away my largest debt
I'll contact CCCS tomorrow and then write to the Halifax

Good idea! I seem to remember oh way back, when I was starting my DMP journey that people wanted their debts passed onto a DCA asap because that would mean the interest would stop.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Anyone got any tips on how to get them to do this? I don't imagine just asking them would work. Is there a pattern to when/why debts are passed on? Are they large/small debts?0 -
Save your money and ask for a certificate of postage, if you need to send anything.
In some organsiations ANYONE can sign for Recorded Delivery/Special Delivery Mail, which means it might not get to the right person !.Thank you! :A I guess I send it recorded delivery to the registered office address or is there some other known address for Westcot where letters are actually read?0 -
Hi all, hows everyone? CCCS have agreed to us delaying our first payment so we can sort the car out thank goodness. Hopefully now things will settle and we can get on with our lives! Very catalogue are driving us mad tho, callings about 10 times a day, I have told them the reference number for CCCS, that we requested contact in writing etc etc but they still keep phoning. We don't answer the phone now but has anyone else had any dealings with them?
