BTW has anyone ever completed a DMP without a default appearing on their credit file - I am hearing of people being several years into repayments and then being slapped with a default, quite worrying really:mad:Nov NSD'S 0/20

Stand, I take them as a positive sign that I am d/w my debts ! (although its surprising how long it takes them to be issued !).
In my case the longest that it took for a default to be issued was 3 years and 3 months !
(This was Capital One, defaulted Oct 2005 and default issued 24/12/2008).
Having now got 3 out of the 4 balance that I asked for (only waiting for Cap One now), with the financial assistance of my dad, I *should* still complete my DMP on 2/12/2012.
(I need help as I have approx £200 left on all 4 to pay, but I`m determined to finish on that date).0 -
Good luck Antonic on finishing in December
3 years 3 months seems a phenomenal time to actually issue the default though, are they allowed to do this? No doubt the answer is yes!!!
All the best

Hi
I have read elsewhere there are rules about when they issue them. However, you would have to fight it out with the Preditor. Besides that, it would only make a difference if that were your only debt. Defaults are also better than arrears or arrange to pay. This is because arrears or arrange to pay could be with you until the end of your dmp then the six years starts. Where as defaults start ticking as soon as they are applied, so, if you had a 7 year dmp it would have dropped off your file whilst you were still paying.
Does any of it matter? Do you really want credit and interest again?

Evening HH !
No I am not wanting credit in the future, the Cap One will fall off in Dec 2014 and having cleared 3 CC`s I dont fancy doing it again !.0 -
The quote of £700 for the clutch was from a local garage. Got quotes from two Ford dealers today: £1000 and £1200  Just need a new clutch not a new car! Apparently when they replace the clutch on a c-max they also have to ............zzzzzzzzzz snore!
I'm sure ours cost over £1000. The parts made up over half the bill and then labour and then of course the dreaded VAT on top of it all:mad:May have to try a quid lucky dip on the lottery tomorrow
Oh that has just reminded me about a ticket I bought last week I still haven't checked. Only........ if I don't check it I could still potentially be a millionaire. If I do check it then I definitely won't be a millionaire. Perhaps I'll leave it for another day:rotfl:DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Hi All,
I've not been on here for ages. My dad died in May and I seem to spend most of my time with my mum at the moment. She's finally coming round a bit and seeing their 65 years together (since she was 15) as something to celebrate rather than feeling that it makes things so much harder now that she is alone.
:hello: Hi ailz, so sorry to hear about your Dad. Your poor Mum. 65 years together is certainly something to be celebrated but she must miss him.One thing I'm grateful for in being disabled is my car. I get higher rate DLA (government willing when the new 'trials and tests' start next year) so for my £54 per week I get a new, insured and serviced car - car tax is zero if you're disabled anyway - every 3 years. All I have to do is put fuel in it. After the old bangers I had this is a relief - no mot or breakdown to worry about.
Having the car must be such a boon, especially as it's worry free. I think the changes the government are bringing in with the benefits system are going to cause an awful lot of upheaval. People who genuinely need help have been lumped in with those who just play the system.Sorry I've gone on so long, hope everything goes well for all DMP'ers. Must get back to my spreadsheets now :rotfl:
Thanks - and yay! another spreadsheet fanatic to add to the geek club:TDMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Certainly don't want CC/loan debt again, however a mortgage would be something I'll be wanting in the future

Hi everyone
I've just been on to CCCS to update my balances. I've not done this before even though I'm almost 3 years into my DMP. Bit depressing as I now owe £3000 more than on my previous estimated balance so it's added another few months to my dfd. :(Moral of this I suppose is to keep making updates.:o
I've started using a spreadsheet too but not really sure how to make the best of it. I can enter numbers and add them up but am sure there's much more to it. Are there any basic instructions as to how to use a spreadsheet properly. Would love to join the geek club!! (how sad is that?!)
Enjoy the rest of the weekendDeeBee0
