DMP & Mutual Support Thread - Part 8

Got paid yesterday and had £47 left in the account which was quite a bonus! The 5 week month killed us last month but we are budgeting well and hope to start building a little pot for Christmas, updating my spreadsheet later today, I will see an uplift on some of the cards, but that was because they were adding interest while I paid £1 token payments for 2 months while we set up the DMP.
I tried calling HSBC as they sent me an email to call them. As I didn't have my account numbers to hand and couldn't remember my security questions they couldn't discuss anything with me - Ah well - !!!! happens!!
Happy saturday everyone!!Debts as of June 2012 - £68,986.35Now £27,470.20 :T57% of debts cleared:beer:0 -

Saying that, Lloyds have written saying they accept our 'reduced' payment of 498 and interest is frozen still... The original repayment when we took the loan out was 360, so how does that make sense?
I have started saving up my money now instead of PADing so that when I have a lump large enough to pay everything off in one go I can. I just wish I had done this before because I am so worried about interest being added and putting me back to square one.
I totally agree with the other posters TTFTM, increase all your expenditure so you go beneath the minimum, and maybe save up the extra so you can pay off the DMP earlier?
On another note, has anyone tried those Ecoballs for washing? I've been reading up on them and they sound quite good, 150 washes without using any detergent or softener must be mse!!
Em x
Morning
Agree entirely.
Ecoballs sound good.

Still thinking about the whole CCCS thing, my head is totally chockablocka at the moment. But the good news is I have just done spreadsheets for the month, having received CCCS statement and all bank/CC statements and our debt is now ......
Drum roll please .......
£68,560
So 8 months in and we have paid £12,746 off our debt. In reality this figure is much higher due to interest charges, fees etc but it still works out at £1593 per month :j
Now to work out how we can make sure every penny paid goes towards debts and get that monthly figure higher and the DFD sooner
Perhaps not on the eco balls then lol.
Fab news on the debt reduction. Way to go:T

Dear Geektwin
I too have password folder, coded inside and on rotational system of course!!
The real joy is being able to feign wrong security details so you cant talk to your preditors, shame! Some jobs need the benefit of the postman me thinks.

Was on offer for £1.68 and voucher was £1. Some good ones on there if you can time it to use when stuff is on offer. It's no extreme couponing unfortunately though!LBM April 2011 DMP June 2011 DFD [STRIKE]Jan 2015 Aug 2014 March 2014[/STRIKE] Ended DMP Jan 2013

Hi all
Just caught up on all the threads. Felt rubbish the last couple of days, total failure with money etc but today feel on top of the world! I havent heard anything yet from CCCS (early days tho I only sent the paperwork tues/wed) so assume they wont take the first payment till 1st Nov at the earliest.
I have been doing sums with wages etc for the next couple of weeks and in Oct if we are just paying token payments we can build a nice little buffer if anything goes wrong with the car etc.
Fingers crossed all the paperwork sent to CCCS was in order and I can get the ball rolling, anxious now to start moving on and getting our lives back on track.
Thank you all for your kind words and for sharing your stories on here, you are all an inspiration and a help to us newbies on this long journey xxx0
