Oh and forgot to say that our new Aldi opens in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to a new hopefully cheaper shopping experience.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Yes quite agree. Neither myself or OH are mechanically minded so can't argue with the garage either. My MOT is due in October, better start saving now:eek:
Now the grill in the oven keeps tripping the fuse box, so I am guessing the element has gone. Can't afford to fix it this month so it will have to wait. Sigh.
It is possible to change the element yourself. My brother-in-law did it so it can't be that difficult!:D If you search on ebay you can get the part fairly cheap and then search on you tube for instructions on how to fit it. Mine is a double oven but the bottom one doesn't work so we will have to do that with ours. Currently cooking everything in the top. :rotfl:We have got a new belt for our dryer and will be doing the same with that. The videos are actually quite straightforward.0 -
We changed the element in our oven, buying one on ebay and finding the instructions online.
It cost us about £6 and the quote from Mr Oven Fixer Man was around £90LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Grills are overated!
Oooo Enjoy Aldi. Like anywhere, watch what you buy for money and quality but you can get some great products and super prices but you do have to be selective.
Their salad cheese version of feta is scrummy. Continental meats are very good too. Milk is abut 30p cheaper than Mr Ts

Very enterprising. I am impressed.

That's brilliant.
Am emptying freezer and cupboards next few weeks to get ready for car tax and ready for Xmas.

Well got a surprise call from an elderly relative last night who wants to give several family members some money. They are unaware of our dire situation but it couldn't have come at a better time. So car and DS's bike are safe now. (Phew!). We have vowed to stick to our plan and still sell some stuff but I don't need to eat noodles all month now!0

I agree on the salad cheese and their olives to make it into a greek salad are great value too. Love their Chorizo and Black Forest ham, both at 99p and Mr TTFTM loves their cottage cheese (69p) and cream cheese (49p).
Hmmm I sound a bit Aldi price obsessive. Maybe I need a new spreadsheetLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Thanks Tigsmom and TTFTM. I did wonder about trying to do it ourselves. After all it can't be that difficult because the elements are the most common thing to go so should be easy to get at hopefully.:)
Downside is I might see how grungy the oven is:eek:Hopelessly_Hopeful wrote: »Grills are overated!

I have been reading up on some other threads about Aldi to see what other people like. The best bit is that it is on my route to and from work and there will be easy parking. It just makes shopping so much easier:TDMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421
