think this is the right place... i am waiting on the paper work from cccs to come, in the mean time they sent me a letter for my pay day loan and bank to stop payments, what i wanted to ask is as i was too embarrased to ask the guy on the phone is this..

when i sign up to the dmp , do i pay cccs a monthly amount then they distribute it to the lenders or have i got that wrong?

    That's correct.
One thing I did before and when I started is to started on part 5 of this dmp rthread and read all the posts. I learnt soooooooooooooo much by following people's ups and downs.

Lucy, you may want to see if you can change your phone numbers without being charged. That way they you don't have to worry about them phoning any more ;)

I would agree with reading the other threads ... think iv been through them all to be honest .... like someone else said previously is really a rollercoaster at the start i couldnt agree more!! i vary from 'yip doing the right thing, am strong can handle calls, letters etc' to 'omgggggggg what am i doing ' coming on here and reading others experiences etc puts me back on the 'I can do this' mind frame :)

had my finalising call from payplan today had a bit of a wobble after it if am honest .... but its all go and payplan gonna start contacting creditors ... gulp!! .... my other half was originally completely unaware of any of this.. i have since filled him in on 'some' not all of the details which is a huge weight of my mind have told him i will let him know the full extent when its all over..... in 5 years 1 month lol

Huge thanks to all who post on here, i really dont think i could have done this without being able to read all the highs and lows others have posted x

  • hi everyone

Just wanted to post a success - my first creditor has agreed to 0% interest and frozen charges:j
I could almost say I love MBNA, if I didnt hate them so much for getting me into this position! 30% interest on their card

Also - Ive worked out my money for the last month and had £130 left...:T:T..its the first time Ive had anything left at the end of the month in years...it was usually a £2600 overdraft!

Just when I thought things were on the up :(.
Yesterday DH reversed my car out of the drive, then when he tried to put it into 1st he felt all the gear links fall and it went sloppy!! Phoned local garage who came for it and took it away (would only go into 1st though - didn't envy him that embarrassing drive :p), confirmed the gear coupling had fallen and would order new part. Came home from work today to see "new" car back on drive, amazing service, but a bill for £144 :eek::eek:. Not sure where it's going to come from as don't have an emergency fund built up yet and no CCs to fall back on; this is gonna be the first of many hurdles, I'm sure :(

  • Oh no Kaz, what a time for it to happen! Will you be able to spend a bit less than your allotted money on food? Ive done that for the last month and managed to save £130..the start of my emergency fund ;)

Im sure we will all have this type of thing happen - not having the CCs as backup is really frightening!
