Well received first letter from creditor No 1. MBNA. It just said they have reviewed my account and that no further transactions would be allowed so please cut up the card.

I'm assuming this is standard letter no.1? Do they get in touch again once they receive the CCCS offer? When do they let you know about interest?

Thanks again everyone for the support.
  • Hi :) im just starting dmp with payplan... I too have buy now pay laters with kandco and with very .... some of which arent due until dec/jan however I have included the full amount due as in the account balance showing on my accounts if that makes sense.... am hoping they keep the bnpl in place which means min payments will prob be met until then .... however if they dont am still covered as have already accounted for it.... and fingers crossed they will freeze interest and charges anyway ...... hope that helps some x

I have also declared the full amount including BNPL, but I wasn't sure if the full amount includes the interest which is added when the BNPL is up.
    Hope that makes sense.
    Thanks

With kandco it does include the interest with very i dont think it does, either way tho if you would have been unable to pay off in full come the bnpl date the interest would be added..... Im hoping that showing that you making regular payments etc through the dmp they MAYYYYYY (big may) freeze the interest and charges.... this would of course mean the kandco balance would be a lot less as the interest would be removed... im just playing it as a 'wait and see' scenario worst case it will be including the interest which the dmp monthly payments are already set up ..if that makes sense :)

  • Hello all DMPers new and old

Am struggling to post much here at the moment because I am mad busy at work and OH is using the computer at home for exam marking.

We are having a total car crisis, ABS light has now advanced to ABS light and engine light and car keeps cutting out. That was fun on the M62 last night when we had to pull over onto the hard shoulder 6 times. Tried the East Lancs Road this morning and it wasn't much better and took twice as long to get to work. We are really stressing over if these 2 problems are linked and how much it is going to cost to sort it and if it's worth having it done due to mileage on car. Oh woe :(

Anyway that's my rant over and just wanted to say hi and hope everyone is doing ok. :)

    So sorry to hear this.

I have once had to miss a full DMP payment so that I could address a big car issue.

I have just had MOT and service and a few bits for £700, thankfully I had most of it but it is going to be a hard couple of months!

The bottom line is you need the car. DMP is meant to be about paying the surplus to the DMP after you have paid your essential bills. The car is one of your essentials. Call CCCS now and discuss your dilemma. You may need to do a couple of months of tokens. There will be a solution but no one can help if you don't tell them about it.

Any more questions please do just shout up. We are stronger together!

    Hi TtFtM

I'm sorry you are having such hassle with your car. I agree with HH, phone CCCS and think about doing a some token payments so you can get the car fixed.

Again agree with HH, we are stronger together. We are here for you if you need us. Sending you hugs.
  • Thanks very much for the support, it's greatly appreciated.

Thank you too to 2spicy who has been extremely helpful.

    You are all wonderful :T

We won't know until the weekend what is wrong and how much it will cost, we'll deal with it then but fingers crossed that it doesn't mean missing a CCCS payment :o

I got six of those letters from MBNA and got another one on Monday, but they yesterday I got a letter saying they have frozen charges and agreed to 0% interest, so hopefully you will get the same in the next couple of days;)
