Funny enough thoughm the Virgin CC was on a 0% balance TX when we went onto the DMP. The repayments to that are actually more than the minimum repayment when we started the DMP anyway:DLBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09

What type of car is it? My ABS light cam on on my 8 year old Focus a couple of months ago. My DH tightened the handbrake cable (which also needed doing anyway) following instructions in the Haines Manual and the light has never come on again since. So that might be something you could try. DH is not a mechanic and he managed to do it fairly easily.
Hi Jenjen
It's a Nissan Primera - 2005 so it's the P12 model.
Thanks very much for your suggestion and help. OH is planning on taking a good luck at it this weekend so is making a list of all the advice we have been given in various places :TLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Ok I was really down yesterday but I guess that is to be expected on this journey. A big thank you to those who have supported me thus far. I do hope there are more up days than down
So with renewed vigour I came in to work and have negotiated a number of reductions in my outgoings, they have now reduced by £50 per month :T
I am about to clear o/d number 2 which means for the first time in many, many years I will be in the black this month. I am also going to set up a savings account - even if I can only manage £20 per month, it will be a positive start.
Hello 925pws :hello:
You seem to be having a really positive day and that is super news :T
I use the expression rollercoaster ride for the start of a DMP, that applies to what is going on and your emotions too. I was all over the place, ecstatic one moment and in floods of tears the next, it was worse than being pregnant :rotfl:
It's all a bit out of control at the beginning, I panicked over every statement, every letter, every phonecall, I even stressed over whether we should pay CCCS by bank transfer, DD or SO! But it does settle down quite quickly, we get the occasional silly letter but no phone calls so we don't let every call go onto the answering machine any more
Seeing a bank statement in the black is a wonderful thing. We have a little celebration each time we get a Co-op bank statement and see we actually aren't in the red even the same day that we get paid like we always used to be and we even have a little bit left at the end of the monthLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Thanks TtFtM.
Your post yesterday was what I needed to hear, in fact all your posts help me
Just paid off the overdraft in my lunch hour so happy days. I was just thinking, wonder what Greece's DMP looks like :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Great news about paying off the OD - well done :T
We are counting the months until we can pay off the first of our ODs, the dreaded NatWest one, then start hitting the Lloyds TSB one. NatWest have currently refunded/stopped interest for 3 months but have told us they are starting it again at end of June so we are desperate to make as much of an impact as we can before then.
Greek DMP? Haha that one really made me laugh! Have got some old drachmas somewhere, think they will be valuable again soon? :rotfl:LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Ok so this DMP malarkey has its ups and its downs but today, boy what a fantastic rollercoaster of emotions.
I had to go get a few grocery items (which I had budgeted for ), I had my fiver in my hand and tentatively walked round the shop lifting the things I needed. I added it up in my head, not once, not twice not even three times but four times :rotfl: This was the first time EVER I had no cards to fall back on and I tell you it was exhilarating and terrifying all at the same time :rotfl:
Boy this is exciting stuff - don't you think0 -
think this is the right place... i am waiting on the paper work from cccs to come, in the mean time they sent me a letter for my pay day loan and bank to stop payments, what i wanted to ask is as i was too embarrased to ask the guy on the phone is this..
when i sign up to the dmp , do i pay cccs a monthly amount then they distribute it to the lenders or have i got that wrong?0 -

Hi Lucy
Just replied to your other post but yes you are correct. Also remember there are no silly questions, just questions and we will all be here to help you through. If you don't understand something just keep asking.
Oh and well done on taking such a big step in such a short time :T0 -

Way to go. Don't fall for offers. Work everything out on price per KG etc. You will see that supermarkets do sneaky things. For example Mr T often badge one fruit and veg up as 'economy' and there's a cheaper one on the sehlf next to it.
