DWP Recruiting Again - 2012

I am a single mother to two children, I scored 37 in total from the interview.
I today received a provisonal offer from North London, however, I am going to have to turn it down as it is too far. I will not be able to travel and collect my kids on time from their childcare providers.
I am hoping that I am offered a post in South London, so I will be able to accept.
Don't turn it down just yet mate: it may be the only offer you get. (erring on the side of caution, some folks have been turned down on a 37 score)
You might well be able to organise family friendly shifts: not all lost just yet0 -
Bottletop this is REALLY going to p*ss you off, but I'm only 24 and I have no kids. I was at uni for 4 years and have had a job for about a year doing filing and stuff. It was the only job I went for and I got it. Since then I have applied for one job - this one - and I got that too. I live with my parents and they don't want rent from me. I will literally be spending all my money on clothes, drink and general trips away.
Based on that information, am I less deserving than you?0 -
Can you remember who said that they had a SE Wales offer?
As inside info from DWP has said no results for SE Wales would be released until 24 April
I had a SW Wales offer. I'm still waiting like you for the SE Wales offer.
In fact I think I'm the only person on here to mention SW Wales :think:0 -
I was thinking of posting in response to some of the recent comments but have decided against commenting on individual comments.
What a shame that in 2012 people are still bickering so needlessly. I have four children and they have more respect for others and far better manners than some of the recent posters on here.
This thread was for support during the recruitment process, not nasty bitterness. Im sure that the right people have been offered positions and if by some chance people that arent suitable have been selected there is a 6 month probation period in which they will be removed and postitions offered to those on the reserve list.
I have found the whole process to be quite a positive experience, the feedback was useful in helping me to identify strengths and weakness and if I hadnt been made a provisional offer I would be using that feedback to help me in applying for other jobs not trying to demean others.
There were never going to be enough jobs for everybody and as in every thing in life if it doesnt work out, pick yourself up, dust yourself down and move on. Life is too short to waste on what-ifs
Good luck to everyone in their future jobs, DWP or not im sure what is meant to be will be

For purely selfish reason don’t take North London offer as Iam on the waiting list there with 31 points. The less people that accept theiroffers there the better for me! Onlyjoking and well done. I hope you makethe right decision for you and enjoy the job.
Hahahaha I hear mate and fingers crossed for you. Keep the faith you have come too far to give up0 -

Don't turn it down, they have flexi hours so if you have to leave a little earlier to pick them up you can!!0 -

I admit I wasn't totally honest with my interview scores, purely because of the abuse I took when I put my application scores on. I didn't want to admit I'd scored relatively poorly and leave myself open to people gloating. Sorry. I figured if I didn't get an offer I'd just fade into the background and never post again..!
Mark, I asked you this in a PM, which I guess you ignored as you've posted hours since.
But did you really get a score of 31 and be offered a job with Derbyshire??????? And have a mate who scored 36??
Or are you just winding people up??
I scored 36 and didnt get in, and am devastated. I read that another scored 38 for Derbyshire and didnt get in.
If you're telling the truth, then somethings seriously wrong and needs looking into.
But if you're winding people up at a very upsetting time, then thats pretty bad.
Oh, and a sincere congraulations to everyone who made it in, good effort, its been a rollercoaster for us all. I'm choked, but hopefully I'm not done for yet!0 -
